The more I consider this,
I would say to just forget about the situation for all of the below reasons:
1) He's headed to retirement (hence the Florida visit)
2) I believe the statute of limitations is up... how long have you had those for anyway?
3) The retirment seeking behavior alerts me that whomever gave you these wheels must be an older individual indicating that he is most likely forgetful.
4) If he hasn't forgotten yet, give him a few more days, he'll forget soon.
