Sorry guys, I don't check these boards as often as I used to. So to answer your questions:

1. No, there unfortunately isn't an alumni discount. I'm guessing it's because it's harder to verify an alumnus, whereas a student can show their student ID, or maybe the officers just hadn't considered it because they're all still students haha

2. Yes, you can register when you arrive at the show.

3. If you're not entering your car into the show, there's plenty of free parking nearby, and coming as a spectator is free. You just won't be able to park in the stadium lot with the rest of the show cars. We're going to need all the parking space in that lot we can get.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll monitor this thread a little closer the rest of this week. I'm getting excited, the show is less than a week away!!!! The forecast is looking good, and the turnout is looking even better!

FAQ 1: "What class am I in?"
Answer: Pick whatever makes the most sense and what you think you could do best in of the following, use common sense.
Classes:
1946-1963
1964-1979
1980-1992
1993-2002
2003-Present
Exotic
Import - European
Import - Asian
Street Rod
Street Truck
Off-Road Truck
Motorcycle - 700cc & under
Motorcycle - Over 700cc
Motorcycle - Cruiser

FAQ2: "What if I didn't preregister, can I still enter?"
Answer: Absolutely! The lot will be filled on a first come first serve basis for everyone at 8:50am.
Pregistrants will have reserved spots until 11am at which time those spots will be opened up for others.

FAQ3: "I have a loud car and I think i am going to win that awesome trophy for loudest exhaust, How do I enter?"
Answer: Those wishing to partake will be released by rows to the staging lanes and directed to a box marked on the pavement.
YOU MUST BE PARKED INSIDE THAT BOX.
YOU MUST BE IN NEUTRAL. (you will likely be removed from the show if you brake stand in gear... it's not safe amd we cannot take that risk)
YOU GET ONE TRY. (Approximately 10-20seconds)
IF THERE IS A TIE YOU WILL BE ASKED BACK FOR A TIE BREAKER.

FAQ4: "Me and my team/crew/club/friends are making a long drive in and want to hang out after the show ends around 3pm, where can we chill after? (Where is the afterparty?)"
Answer: Front 43. Big parking lot out back and good sushi next door too if you want a sit down meal. It's right near 496/127 interchange and some gas stations. I'll be there and I know others will. Not to mention 10% off for show attendees is pretty legit.

FAQ5: "Do I need to preregister? I haven't done that, how do I?"
Answer: NO. You do not need to preregister. Gates officially open at 9am to everyone. Preregistration is closed, don't worry about it until next year.

FAQ6: "Where do I park?"
Answer: If you want to enter the show, park in the south stadium lot (enter from shaw lane).
Overflow parking for when the show lot is full can be found on the west side of the stadium, north side of the stadium and in the lots by the engineering building. Those same lots are perfect for spectators. Here is a map to help.

A good friend was there with his 95 yellow 347 mustang

Saw that car at the show then ended up driving out of town almost side by side. The car sounds really good.

This was really poorly put together today. Really disappointing

Also agree. First time I ever attended the MSU show and was hard to just walk around with the amount of cars that were coming and leaving. Most car shows I've been to, once the car parks its pretty much there until the show is over.

Statement from the MSU Racing Club:

On behalf of the MSU Racing Club, I would like to thank everyone who came out to the show.
We had an amazing turnout, but the unfortunate downside of a huge turnout was the massive influx of cars all at once. The size of the convoys created traffic back-ups all the way to the highway, so the police justifiably took over the traffic control for a while and we unfortunately lost some awesome cars in the mix.
We had such a great response to having Spartan Stadium serve as the backdrop for our event last year that we wanted to try to keep it there this year, but that limited our size tremendously as it turns out. When we reserved the lot we were expecting about 1000 cars (following about 800 last year), but we ended up having more than 1500 on campus. It is hard to cut through some of the bureaucratic tape that we would have needed to cut through to make a late lot switch as the number of attendees rose on the Facebook event.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work out the bugs to put on the best show possible. We learn from each and every year, so rest assured that we will come back next year with something even better.
Check back over the next couple days for pictures of all the awesome cars and a list of the award winners.

i had a great time.

It's kinda silly to not pre-register and then complain that you couldn't get in because it was full. I do agree though that next year it needs to be someplace bigger. I think Shaw ramp would be cool but i don't know if you can reserve a parking ramp lol

goes great with all the interaction Ive had with the staff, no apology.
good, they don't owe you or anyone else one.
