Moving to the "D"...well Farmington Hills, close enough!

Basement Burger Bar has to be one of the worst burgers I've ever had. El Patio isnt bad for cheap mexican. Alfoccino at Grandriver and Haggerty has good Italian food. Bronx Deli at 12mile and Halsted has great sandwiches and soups, Along with Picasso Deli on Grand River just west of Haggerty

Man I forgot about Bronx Deli. That place is great.

I'll have to check out that Bronx Deli, it's sooo close, I'll report back tomorrow night haha.

There's another little GREAT Italian place on west side Novi Rd, just above Grand River & below 696,

Let us know if you want to kill some paper targets anytime.

If you are going south on I-275 in the morning and north in the evening, traffic is much better than the other way around. As others have said, the I-275/I-96/I-696/M5 interchange is a total cluster during morning and evening rush hour. 8 Mile Rd. is bad around I-275 during the evening rush.

For food, some places that haven't been mentioned yet:
- Mod Pizza at 7 Mile and Haggerty - think of it like subway but for thin crust pizza. You pay one price for the pizza and select as many toppings as you want and watch them put them on.
- Gaucho - also at 7 Mile and Haggerty - Brazilian Steakhouse. A little pricey but damn good.
- Rainbow Restaurant - Chinese food at 9 Mile and Farmington
- Thai Kitchen - off Grand River in downtown Farmington in the same strip mall as Bellicino's. Just east of Los Tres Amigos
- Arabic - lots around but we like Sheesh at the corner of 5 Mile and Newburgh.
- Burgers - a ton of good places around. Smash Burger on Orchard Lake just south of Maple is pretty good and hasn't been mentioned yet

Something not quite as common:
- The Fiddler - Russian food on Orchard Lake south of Maple
- Taste of Ethiopia - Southfield Rd. north of 12 Mile

And I definitely second whoever mentioned Bigalora Wood Fired Cucina. Used to be called Pizzaria Biga. Great thin crust pizzas!

Maisano's. A friend just told me about it a week or so ago. We haven't tried it yet but it's on the to-do list. We so like Antonio's on 12 Mile more than Alfoccino's or the place on Farmington just south of Grand River.

Antonios is good as well. I'm big on breadsticks and I remember Alfoccino having the better of the two.

If you like Mediterranean food La Marsa off grand river and I believe Drake has real good food. I've had some pretty awesome ghallaba

I think basement burger bar was pretty bad.... my food showed up wrong and then the waitress argued with me. Once it was fixed still wasnt impressed. Went a second time with friends, ill never go back.

Masons at farmington and 96 is where the party is at for a burger.

they have weird hours, dont open till 4pm, but they have been there FOREVER I have friends who worked there 30 years ago

Did a little more exploring last night, showed the wife the downtown Farmington hills area, then toured down and around through Livonia.

How has nobody mentioned Socialhouse? Ken owns that and from what I see looks like good food and really great beer selection. Maybe we need to get the monthly dinners going again and hit his place up.

If you guys get something going that would be great. New area and we don't know anyone!

We used to meet once a month and that fell apart when my work/travel schedule got insane along with everyone else. I am hoping things will slow down and maybe we can get that tradition going again. Was always fun to catch up and BS with everyone.

We started venturing out, we hit Guernsey Farms for ice cream after stopping at Los Tres Amigos for lunch on Sunday. Both were pretty good!

South Lyon can be a nice small town atmosphere, straight west on 10 mile. Lake Street Tavern, South Lyon Hotel, and/or Witches Hat Brewery. We usually go to lake street for dinner once a month.

I'm not 100% sure Ken still owns social house based off some of what I have seen on the facebook page.

They also just changed their name.

Such fight club, we probably all live within 1 sq mile of each other, yet could pick each other out of a crowd of one...
