Most Unique Vehicle I’ve Ever Purchased…

At first glance, it looks like your everyday 1999
Chevy Silverado Z71 4x4 pick up. Truck is fully optioned.

It has 85,000 miles on it…..and has never been driven on
the road! The truck has never been plated. Has spent almost
all of its life indoors.

This truck was purchased new by the government as a
lab test vehicle. All 85,000 miles were driven on a dyno!

It is beyond clean! Truly a one of a kind. This is a real odd ball,
but a good odd ball! I’m thinking I’m going to keep this one.

I believe I know what it might be worth, but I am wondering,
what do you guys think this thing could be worth?

First of all how in the heck did you come across this for sale?? I would so save this, very cool truck. As for value, no idea, basically a new truck minus the miles!!

Oh, there is a story behind this.

One night when there is nothing to do, I'll explain it all.

This is the only one like it in this country, probably the world and
it took them 18 years to sell this one. I saw the new 2017 replacement.

It's next to impossible to place values on things like this. Is that a 4.8? I believe 1999 had the old iron heads. I'm guessing it might be worth ~7k? It's really clean, but not totally different than a low mileage southern vehicle.

While I agree it would be hard to place a value on it, it certainly isn't impossible.
My best guess is a very easy 10K and perhaps closer to 12K is what this very strong
truck market is commanding for such a vehicle.

My 2002 southern Suburban with 122,000 miles on it easily sold for $9,800. last year.

Fuck the value... Keep it and enjoy it... Stuff like that is hard to come by and enjoy....

You know it Sir, and for those reasons I'm pretty sure that is what I'm going to do.

I just wanted some feedback from you folks & get your thoughts on what is a

pretty rare find.

Thank you so far guys, any more thoughts?

same basic truck Idaho so its clean, sold 8500

std cab is gonna hold the price down, me and about 3 other people like them, Truck might pull 10 but it will take some time to sell at that price,

Thanks Ken, those were pretty good comps.

So does it matter much to any of you that the miles are dyno
and not road? I was thinking this would carry some "value weight"?

Were they full throttle dyno miles? Haha It is very rare even being a SCSB V8 4X4.. It is worthless to most people. To us and really old men, its easily a $15,000 truck...

I just test drove a similar 2007 that was worn out at 100k... it drove sloppy.. they wanted 14k.. no thanks. Good score, as usual!

I just knew you'd make my day Denny

It certainly makes a difference that the miles were dyno miles as there is no suspension wear involved. The fact it was kept indoors would also preserve all the rubber items on the truck that wouldn't happen if it got 85k miles normally.

The impressive thing to me is all of the bolt ends poking through on the undercarriage. No matter how clean a normal low mile vehicle is those bolt ends still always get enough exposure to end up rusty looking. But on this truck, even those bolt ends that stick through are spotless and new.

One thing bothers me in the pics. The damned screw someone used to plug up the drain on the muffler. Well, two things.. the muffler mud too.
But very nice score! And yes i'd keep it, throw a big ass turbo on it and have some fun ;)
