Mod's to your car/family

Question? Does anyone ever get shit from family members for mod's you do to your car. Me- I bought my Mach1 and within 2 days of owning it I had exhaust and a gear. I get shit all the time for "ruining" my car...anyways...rant over
 
i used to get shit for spending money on my car. but they have stopped. i now have about $2600 invested into my taurus. the bulk of it was rim/tire, suspension, tint, and alarm. big money items. the rest are lil things here and there.
 
I get a little here and there. I get a hell of a lot more for talking about cars too much though. :) I'm starting to see their point though. I don't think I've had a day in the past couple of years where I haven't talked about cars, the a$$hole$ on the road, racing, performance upgrades, who's got what on sale, etc. For someone who's not into cars, I can kind of understand how that gets old quick.

Anyway, back on topic. Just tell them to get over it. It's not their money and you're responsible enough to make your own decisions.
 
Nope. My Dad was a gear head. Mom use to street race with Dad and most of my Uncles are into it.
 
my wife bitches about it a lot. she hates my car (or any modified car i've ever owned)

i also get the "you've ruined your car" bit. lol.
 
I thought this thread was asking if you could apply mods to your car and family.

Well....i seem to get a lot of smart ass remakes lately and it annoys me for some reason....

BIGGEST person in my family is a car guy too and he makes remarks all the time!
 
Nope, it's like a fucking race in my family. If me or dad hasn't modified a new car worth modifying within a week of buying it there is something wrong :) My mom's mustang was dropped and had stripes on it a week after buying it. My Lightning had new taillights within a week. My T-bird har the air silencer removed the first week I had it and stripes 5 months after I got it. My dad's truck was dropped very shortly after he bought it. Nothing stays stock unless it's a beater.

I got suckered punched......
my girlfriends dad was a gearhead , her brother was the local hot shoe,
she admits to first noticing me because of my car (clean 5.0 at the time).
I thought it was safe and married her. It all changed.
We have agreed on a "dont ask don't tell policy".

My dad is a car guy. But towards the end of high school I caught a lot of flak because he wanted me to save my $$ to cover costs when I went to college. Now that college is done he asks me what is new almost weekly with the cars!
 
My wife didn't seem too sure at first, but the first thing she asked after she went with me to the track the first time was "so what else can you buy to make it faster?" :laugh:
 
Used to catch shit all the time. I bought headers before the car I ordered even came in. The car only had 8400 miles on the clock when I sold it, many many short trips :).
