please post pics of you modded pistols semi or revolver with list of mods and affects before and after. please also share cost and if you think that the cost was worth the benefit if there was one, also the gun smith if you think they are reputation is worth putting it out there.
 
Honestly, any mod I've made to a pistol was a complete waste of money. I assume you're wanting to mod your gun to make it more accurate, right? What goal are you trying to reach? Trigger jobs are about the only thing worth doing in my opinion, only if your trigger is shitty. (Like a M&P trigger) A fluff and buff never hurts I suppose. But barrels are worthless. Unless you can legitimately out shoot your gun, save your money and spend it on ammo, range time, and some training. Amateurs work on their hardware, pros work on their software.

This is a glock I had, tried a few different drop in "match" barrels and it was a waste of money. The factory barrels are just as good. So no noticeable improvement. This was the storm lake bbl.

Also I know a great gunsmith if you need work done.
 
I guess it all boils down to what you're trying to do? Shoot IDPA? Make a target gun? Improve your carry gun?

Kinda a small world thing I guess Doug @ Billetflow is really good with M&P triggers, I thought It was weird because I want a SW M&P and I also have his pulleys on my cobra. When I get a M&P9 he will deffinitly do the trigger for me.

And I agree, range time is key. I have come ALONG way since I started just by practicing more and trying new things. With shooting practice makes perfect in my opnion.
 
Probably can't improve a Glock so I've never sent mine out.

Agreed that almost anything you can do to a pistol, short of adding night sights (or big dots or whatever you like) is a waste of $.
 
Sorry bout that^ posted on the wrong screen name. Anyway, only way to improve a Glock is to sell it and buy an XDM :rockwoot:
 
Trigger job helps a lot. I put a better trigger on my Marlin 30-30 and it was an amazing difference.

I plan on going to Doug @ Billetflow also for a trigger job on my M&P9c. I put grips on my M&P9c and really liked them. Get the rubber ones if you can. I went with Talon Grips.

I just go to the range, or field target shooting and soon i will apply for my cpl I dont plan on speed or comp shooting. I just like modifying everything even though some things are a waste of money.
I have a glock 19 with extended barrel, the only difference i noticed it will shoot cheaper ammo more accurate. i was thinking of have the short grip conversion done with 360 stippling and a trigger job. I also want a glock so i thinking of not getting more mods on my 19 and having the trigger done on it.

Some police departments request heavier triggers so their officers don't shoot the donuts out of each others hands - I'm not sure if that made it into any regular guns or not. 10lb trigger vs 5lb trigger or something like that.

They're pretty good.


Dude if you want another glock just buy a glock 34. It has an adjustable trigger and it's their competition gun. or find a G17L. They have an adjustable trigger. If were you I wouldnt waste the money on mods.
 
If you're getting it for your CPL, I know two people now with the Glock 26 and they love it. I shot it and it's a very nice firearm for around 450-500 new. Very popular carry piece. That's if you're convinced that your next firearm will be a Glock and you'll use it to carry.

I think a little modification in necessary depending on the person. If the person is having trouble with the slide release and needs it to be a little longer, then why not get an extension for it? Or they want that extra finger to wrap around the bottom of their sub-compact, get a magazine extension. They're cheap and worth the comfort. My grips I added were only 10 bucks shipped. Well worth it IMO.

Also, if this is for home protection, you might want to consider getting a flash light attachment. Pretty important piece for home defense is identifying your target. There was a recent article in Flint where a woman shot her husband as he came home early from a trip. She thought he was a bugler because she couldn't see who it was. Lots of cases like this I'm sure. Get something like a Streamlight TLR-3. Only 80 bucks and it slides on and off with a twist of a screw (depending if you have a rail or not).

Again, this is just my opinion on worthy modifications.
