I've owned the car about two weeks now. I traded in my 09 silverado 4x4 four door for this go cart. So far I'm happy with my decision. Thanks to a little research I found Marc (autolavish) thread about detailing info and bought the recommended products and shined up my car today.

Coil overs and wheels soon to come

Both responses are correct. I have a 54 mile round trip to work every day so the truck was just not practical. I may not save a bunch of money but every little bit counts

The Cleanest GTI thread of the MK6 golf I worked on has over 30k views on golfmk6.com: http://golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18392

Glad you found the thread useful, and that you're using some of the knowledge to take better care of your own car. What products did you scoop up and are you using on her? Do you have any products on your radar you're waiting on?

Good move and enjoy that gas mileage as well as fun-to-drive factor!

So itll cost you a little over $4 round trip vs $10 ;). Thats a savings of $120 per month in fuel alone. Sounds like youre saving some decent coin to me :)

I already had the McGuires gold soap so ill stick with that till its gone. I also picked up a nice microfiber mitt and towels, McGuires quick wax (just a spray bottle) a couple buckets and the grit guards for them. A wipe off tire shine (turtle) and turtle bug and tar remover ( currently reside in Texas so that's definitely a must. I also use rain x spray on.

I'm happy with the way it turned out but I could use some practice. Thanks again for the info!

What a great choice! I bet you were hooked as soon as you came back from the test drive? Most people that don't know vws don't know their handling characteristics. Awesome!

First VW and very happy so far. Kinda missing the gas station but it helps slow down the frivolous spending!

I had a TDI when I lived in Norway. It was great only filling up once a month. You save quite a bit of time not having to stop at every gas station too. Now I need to read up on that thread to read up on leather cleaners as I'm picking up an A6 now.
