I want to be in one of the many Mike Ridings threads. I havent had experience with him but I have a friend who had his trans done by him, and the converter blew up on it 3 weeks after a fresh rebuild and a "custom" ridings converter. But from what I am seeing, atleast he got his trans back....

There was a big Ryder moving truck in his driveway over the weekend :) He lives right down the road from me... and I'm the proud owner of one of his finest 8 month rebuilds that whines like a bitch.

Hey guys i dont really post on here too often but i have personally known Mike Ridings since 1998. I met him through a co-worker and found out he rebuilt transmissions. So I had him rebuild a c-4 and turbo 400 for me and they both worked great and were finished in a timely manner. I kept in touch with him throughout the yrs then he just went MIA. I actually found him here on motown 2 yrs ago or so. Now i know he was a busy guy with work/ trans repair but its very obvious he got overwhelmed with side work and couldnt keep up. Now im not writing this to defend him or take sides on any matter because i dont know the whole story or stories. However it is upsetting to know that customers property have not been either rebuilt/ finished or returned do to not being able to start/finish the job, but to find out that customers parts and or transmissions were actually sold ? Now this is unreal and im sorry to hear this guys !

Just search Mike Ridings on Motown and read one of the numerous threads. He has some people that are happy with his work, but it sure seems like 90% he screws over, does a shit job, or sells their shit and dissappears. Bottom line the guy is a crook and needs to be stopped.

i know which friend you speak of and he is the one who kept hounding me to take my c4 to him cuz he is the BEST! lol:thumbsdow

Does he have a black LS1 Z28?

Weeeeeeellllllll.......

I was one of the ones with a good Riding story. Said the trans would last years. It lasted great....up until this morning. Feels like the converter is putting no power through it at all. Was able to limp it to my parents to get a ride to work, which there is started leaking fluid out of it.

Wonderuckingfull. Just put an offer in on a place and now this bullshit.
