mid 70's sbc cyl head good for a 1989 sbc?

i have a set of redone 993 casting cyl heads off a mid 70's truck and someone wants to put them on his 89 chevy pickup with a sbc. I just wanted to make sure they would fit since he wasnt sure. I think they do, but I not certain.

not sure on the chamber sizes, but if he is staying with TBI , the center intake bolt holes are a different angle on 86+ sbc's

so the 89 trucks had tbi?

The heads will work but the guy will have to drill the holes out in the intake to make it bolt to the heads.

86/87 was that change over, IIRC, 87 was the last year that a carb was offered on the trucks, but TBI was standard

will also loose about a point of compression. hell be lucky to have 8:1 with those heads
