Whoops!! It never pays to try and be the badass who does a sweet burnout after your run. Someone on FB said the guy had a Ford GT there that he was running as well.

Very unfortunate, but thankfully no serious injuries. Anyone there could see he knew how to handle all of his cars - the ZR/GT/S65. It was an honest goof that will cost him, but it could have happened to any of us. All these chumps on other sites are such pussies for poking fun at him. I can count numerous times I almost ate shit spinning off a track or almost losing it at the strip, most everyone with fast cars that pushes them can do the same. Nice to see folks on here have a LOT more class than those on the other sites.

Separately, the little S4 doing 16x (can't remember exactly) was our surprise of the weekend. Well, actually the turkey doing yoga in the left lane on 94 in Jackson was the surprise of the weekend. I'm sure our caravan of cars dodged it just to have some teenage girl jamming Kesha and texting smack it moments later.

I try and resist the urges to slide around or do burnouts in the firebird for this exact reason, things can go south so quickly even if you know your car well. the posts i read on FB said that he was a very good driver in both his cars (didn't mention the third) and that it was just shitty luck that bit him in the ass on this one.

We didn't make it there until Sunday afternoon. Still had fun watching the airshow until the cars ran again near the end of the day. Hopefully what happened doesn't prevent this event from taking place again in the future.

Seems like Saturday would have been a better day to attend with more cars? Had my car been up and running it would have been fun to see what it could do.

I was at Nola Motorsports Park in New Orleans with him last year. He knows what he's doing.

And that is why they're called accidents, hope the damage isnt too bad. He should just be glad he only crunched up a car and didnt smoke some spectators.

Any more info on the 213mph GTR? I didnt hear anything about it, All the GTR's I knew there were in the 180s

Yep, that was a nice Switzer package on that one. I didn't see any other GTR's above the 170s. A couple of stock ones did 169 and 170, right about where they should be.
