Memorial Day...

CRASH

Drinking the LoLions Kool Aid
What does it mean to you? Or is it just a day off from work....

This is a time we reflect and think about our heroes....past, present, and future.

"And when he gets to heaven,
to Saint Peter he will tell:
"Just another soldier reporting, sir
I've served my time in hell."

you need a reality check what you have is because of those before us
.... swiftster you have it right

I think of my uncle burried in france from WWII and my grandfather who earned his first purple heart on the beach at normandy
and his last at the battle of the bulge

As said above, it's to honor those who have fallen for our country to keep us all safe, to be able to sit here and type what we want without our government censoring what websites we can and can't go to. RIP to all the brave men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

As I get older, I realize more and more what it means. I appreciate those that I served with, those serving before me and those still giving all to this day.

It's a day I get to remember my brothers I've lost overseas and remember what were over there fighting for. What the media doesn't show people. In my year I spent in Afghanistan it opened my eyes to a lot, to the life they live compared to ours. The small things we have that they have no clue what even is. Like running water, bathrooms, showers, sinks. It's the small things in life we take for granite! I'm proud to of served my nation and I'll hopefully be going back for another 9 months in March!

Reminds me of my grandfather who served in the pacific during WWII as a Marine. Was on the Missouri when Japan surrendered.

It's a day off? Not in my world.
However, I do appreciate the men & women who we do honor with Memorial Day.

I think of my grandfather who was in the 88th signal corp in wwii. Thx to all those who have served past and present!

Hard to believe someone would think of memorial day as "just another day off"

RIP Dad - Been a long time since I've had a chance to thank you again.....

That I have the day off is of no consequence.

That I have the freedom to enjoy this day thanks to those that/have serve/served most certainly is.

It's the third most important reason for you and I to have a day off. "Celebrating" this day is absolutely the wrong approach. This is a day to remember and honor those who have given their lives to protect our freedoms and way of life.
Christmas, Easter, and Memorial day. Independence day is a close 4th.

What it means to me.

A day to remember all the ones that have gone home, and and all the ones that came back to us. Rather we believe in the wars or not.

This day is to remember them for what they did for us.

A day that is more important then most other holidays!

A side note in case you didn't know...

Memorial Day is to remember those that have died in service of our country.
Veteran's Day is to honor all those who have served.

Sometimes I get a little too hung up on details!

THANK YOU to all who have served.
