Megasquirt gurus?

Howdy. first post on this forum. I was sent from a guy on the Quad4forums.

To start off, YES I searched. But only for 20 minutes. So no-one stab me with a dull wit or broken piston.

I am in search of a person who can help me with the tuning in of an engine using a Megasquirt.

I built a junk yard dog type car. Butt ugly and looks like crap. It is also an import! No need to hide your derision. I have heard it all before.

I installed a Chevy motor. (2.3 I4)
I built a Megasquirt. (version 2.2) The car runs now. I have an LC-1. My problem is with the VE tables. I am not very good with doing this kinda stuff and this is my first exploration with the MS system. The car has sat for over 6 months with barely a move around the driveway under its own power.
The engine is fully installed. I have got it to idle. (usually)

So does anyone have any experience they would lend me on getting this POS road worthy. I would love a guy to be able to sit next to me, and explain everything. Yes I have gone to the Megaquirt forums. I have read most of the stuff. The problem has been that I do not seem to retain the info. At least for working on it.
I can email anyone my current MS operating program. Also my last datalog.

I'd appreciate any help fellas.

Get a sheet of graphing paper. Put MAP KPA in one coloum and RPM in one row. Write down you AF at various rpm amd map position. use this to work on you ve table.

to get the desired change

af/14.7=% of difference.

then multiply the cell vaules by the % you got.

For exmaple

ve value 20 at say 20kpa and 600 rpm

AF is 16.9

16.9/14.7= 1.14%

1.145 x 20 " VE Vaule" = 22.8 to get 14.7

Its not as hard as you think.

Also use the plus 3 rule for timing. if you can add or subtract 3 degree of timming under light load and you get no significant change in AF IE no more then 4-5% either way then go back to the value you had. Also add timming and watch vacum vs tps and engine speed. More vacum is good. So add spark till vacum comes up then stop.

It takes a bit of fiddling but once you start going its not so bad.

While i am not an idiot, I also suck at math. I can do the math problems you show. however I am not good at translating them to real world. Like I said, I managed to get the car going already. I am just scared to death of doing it wrong. I played wiht the numbers enough to get the thing to start and run. I am also getting alot of "noise" in sensors.
I have never done any tuning before. I did not learn on carby motors. Everything I learned I have learned from the internet. Not real world applications. I understand that it is beyond my 'reading off the internet tuning' skill level.
What may seem simple to you, is a whole new world to me. I understand that the proccess is easy. But for some reason it is not something that I can wrap my brain around.
Here is a screenshot of a past datalog. and also the VE table that i used to get a semi stable idle.

I do thank you for the input. Anything else you might wanna add feel free to post it up.

hmmm. I am not up 100% on the megasuirt and its many ecntricitys. Give me a day or 2 to look over the Mega manual and I will see what I can come up with for a easy fool proof system to get started here.
