Media Blasting... Downriver?

I'm getting tired of "spot fixing" my car. I'm seriously looking to just break it down, get it blasted, and work from there.

Is there any places to get it media blasted South of Redford?? I'm going to have to pay for flatbed transport of course, so I'm looking for a more reasonable distance from Carleton.

The alternative is to buy the rig and do it myself. Any experiences with equipment / media process out there?

theres a media blast place in newport on dixie just before fermi goin south, cant remember the name though its between swan creek rd and fermi drive

be a wee bit careful with him
i just had a set of rims done by him last week...
he said it would take him 15 minutes....
he charges 80 bucks an hour...

lets just say when i picked up the rims it was 280 dollars later...

If you strip it down, I can do it for you. I live in Carleton and could pick up/drop off. We can work on a price later if you want. pm me if interested.

PM so very sent to red347lx.

I did talk to LaBeau today. We discussed how the car would be handled, since it's NOT on a rotiserie, but will be on a dolly with wheels. It sounds like he uses a front end loader...? He also uses ONLY sand, but says he's done many cars with no issues. Those 2 factors alone had me wondering. He told me $70 per hour, and that what I was asking for would only be "3 or 4 hours". I though this was a little low.

Yup L&R. I went through there a little late today and the palce was closed. I probably won't have time tomorrow.
Thanks to all for the input!! I'll post some before / after pix.

Hey let us know how much L&R charges. They're around the corner from my shop, was thinking of having them sandblast some stuff but haven't been by to get a price

Still haven't made it to L&R. Too busy getting the car apart!!
I have lots of pix. New project thread will fire up once I get to a point where I can back off. Blasting scheduled. Once that's done, bare steel waits for no man.

We have had LaBeau's blast about a 12 cars for us top notch job never seen a warped panel and he don't miss any thing well worth the money he did a '64 fairlane for us inside and out top and bottom it was just a little under a $1000
