Mechanic in Plymouth/Canton area?

My mom's car overheated the other night and we need a good shop to diagnose it within 10 miles of downtown Plymouth (how far insurance will pay for the tow). Unfortunately I no longer live in the area to help her with this so I need a good shop that is reasonable and won't take advantage of her.

Car is a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora with the 4.0 baby Northstar engine, so ideally someone familiar with Northstars would be great. After a couple less-than-great experiences with local shops she's basically resigned to taking it to the dealer which I'm sure will cost twice what it needs to be.

Any recommendations?

Oh I know, but she's very attached to the car for some reason and it's in excellent shape. I'm trying but it's an uphill battle lol. If it actually is the head gasket I sincerely hope that'll be what finally convinces her.

I feel like the repair place right at the corner of Main St and Ann Arbor Rd had a tie to someone on MM at one point. It's the place right on the corner near Zack's.
 
It did but he's no longer there from what I understand. She went there for her last set of repairs and the mechanic was ok but the owner was pushing for unnecessary spending to the point the mechanic advised her not to listen to him. Also have heard some other negative things about the owner since then so we'd like to find somewhere new now that I'm not around to assist in the process.

I only take my cars to Oval Repair in Livonia. They specialize in Ford but I see them working on all sorts of cars. According to Google they're 9 miles away from the Penniman and Harvey in Plymouth.

Jeff is a really down to earth guy and will not try and sell you on things you dont need.

Harold Bates is the owner/mechanic and my dad, Brady, is the other mechanic. They are both honest and master ASE certified. Both retired from Ford after 30+ years,
