MCS (Train Station) pics

i really wanna go there and walk around inside and check everything out is their anything i should expect or bring with me ect.... thanks

cool cool so dont interfer with the bum lol

just treat everyone with respect, treat the building with respect (you dont know who calls that building home) and you will be just fine.

DO NOT GO DOWN THERE AND TRASH THE BUILDING more then it already is

you may want to go soon though. have you not heard the news? they're trying to get the place leveled in a month or so. i dont see that happening, but you never know.

keep in mind, its still illegal, you can and will be arrested if spotted. get in the building quickly. dont spend any time dicking around. get your ass inside! once inside, stay away from windows and stuff. pretty much, try not to let people see you. on the way out, same as going in, do it fast and keep walking. i have also been there 10+ times and everytime i go, it looks a little bit crappier.

The owners have done an assessment of the situation and found that a high percentage of the vandalism and illegal entry in general has been from the Vernor street lower entrance. That entrance in particular is owned by the city of Detroit and has not been secured. So now a very big finger is being pointed at the city for allowing such extensive damage to be allowed. And the official word about the demolition is "it won't be happening any time soon".

i agree, i think that entrance will be a bit tougher to get into in a short while.

Not being a smartass here at all, just an honest question: Why don't you guys volunteer to help clean shit up and do it legally rather than destroying property? I'm sure the city would welcome it and you could spend all the time in abandon buildings you want.

i completely agree that it would be nice to be able to go down there and "do it legally" however i dont think the city would even think of allowing people in some of the buildings (MCS included) to help cleanup because of the liability. Also, what are you cleaning it up for, rebuilding? the city would have to appoint personnel to oversee this, insure the hell out of the people going inside, etc. volunteering doesnt mean free to a city.

I completely hate it when people destroy things for no good reason.

I doesn't have to be MCS, it's not salvageable. But imagine if people did volunteer to help keep it cleaned up right after it closed? Maybe it would be something the city could be proud of, rather than the hole it is now.

I don't mean to get all up on my high horse about this. I just hate it when people add to the blight of the city, rather than the other way around. I'm sure there are some buildings in Detroit that the city owns that could be salvagable with some work. But like you said, I'm sure there would be a lot of red tape going through city counsel.
