MAD SKILLS!! Check this stuff out

My girlfriend's stepdad is one of the baddest MF'ers I have ever met. He's building a model A street rod, and he built the frame from scratch, put an IRS out of a Jag in it, and it's got a 600 horse blown 383 going in. I helped him pull the body off the frame so he could finish weld it and get it media blasted. He made a lot of the body parts (firewall, floors, roof is from a donor,) chopped it, raised the rear wheel opening 2 inches, fitted the doors to the body so they don't overlap the 1/4 like they did originally, etc etc. And he's super modest about it. Like it's no big deal. I can't wait to see this car done. He's also got a Cuda that might be done someday too. He backhalfed it and built his own 4 link.

Is he gonna have a Jag IRS out back and a leaf spring up front?

Yeah, kinda typical, but it's still cool. I just think it's badass he did it all himself. I wouldn't even know where to begin on building a frame from scratch. I guess at his work they have a giant surface plate, and he built it on that, but still...

I'm going out there this weekend. He should have the frame painted by now and started putting it back together.

Have seen this stuff in person and.... WOW

Like John said he was sooo modest about all of it. He critiqued his work so much and pointed out any flaws or mistakes... I was just in awe of what he had done! He is a Bad man! Super nice guy

Thanks for posting John, I was wondering a while back if he had done anything more on this or the Cuda.

The Cuda's on the back burner. The street rod was closer to being done, so he's focusing on that. I've been going out w/Sara for almost 8 years, and the Cuda was already started on when I met her. This truck he did for a guy took a lot of time though. It's more of a money thing too, the Cuda needs less work, but a boatload more cash to finish, the street rod is a lot of work, but all the high ticket stuff is done.

Got some more pics. All major re-assembly on the chassis is done, it's running now. Now he's gotta send the body out for media blasting. He might just leave it in primer so he can drive it this summer and do the body next winter. Check out the detail on the alternator bracket. He made all that stuff.....
