LT1 MAF location

THis half-assed kit I got puts it after the SC. Is this where it's supposed to go? For some reason I got it in my mind that it went on before the SC.

:dontknow:

The MAF on my car is between the intercooler and intake. That would be after the turbo's. So that sounds about right. Measuring the air actually going into the engine.

Thanks, The kit directions from the website say before the SC, but the previous owner modified the kit to accept the MAF after the blower, so Iwas suspicious. I'm only gonna be pushin' a measly 6psi, so I figgered she'd be ok, but admittedly I know very little about this stuff.

You always want blow through not draw through whenever physically possiable.

I heard that blow thru is harder to tune in a short pipe setup like a blower because it hard to find a area to put the meter because you dont want a bend right befor it. I was also told that if the blow thru meter turns from moving it or what ever it will throw the tune off. Is that correct or did I hear wrong, I had my car in blow thru, I switched to a draw thru because of those reasons.

Comparing a Ford Meter to a Delphi meter is sort of like comparing apples to oranges. the delphi meter provided its screened, is so resistant to noise that you can just about stick you hand in front of it and it doesn;t even twitch.

The ford meters at least most of the unit out on the market like the bullet 75mm etc do not have any way to make the airflow laminar like a Delphi MAF.

the downside Ford to GM is that you can;t just change the housing and really change the Curve of the maf. you can make it ugly with a delphi but you can;t add as much airflow as a Ford meter.

There are some products comming to market that will be able to put a Delphi meter on a Ford Ecm. The time frame for those to come to market are sort of sketchy.

I think the MAF tunner that anderson ford sells can actually convert a FQ meter to a voltage meter but its not very user friendly.

Screened Delphi Metal 3 pin maf is about the best MAF out there for low HP boost engines. It good for at least 800hp rescalled but gets to restrictive beyond 800hp to be really useful. the plastic 85mm 5 pin delphi meter found on 01 up trucks doesn't get restrictive till around 1100hp but you have to use a meter scalling device to bring them both down to something a GM or Ford ECM could use.

All this being said, where in this induction scenario does the meth sprayer go? I would assume AFTER the MAF, but chek me if I'm wrong here, Sean.

Where can I get a meter scaling device that will work for this?
