Ok so how are they adressing the +.125 inch difference in crank to bellhousing between the SBC and the LS1 ?

bellhousing height i guess. they have one for ls1 to lt1 t56 without changeing the input and mid also

So if you had a t5 where the bellhousing hieght was fixed. Where would you come up with the proper hieght flywheel ?

umm. if the bell is the proper height(length)so the input is in the crank the flywheel position wouldn't matter a ton becuase its a mechanical linkage with an adjustable ball(which they probably put in the correct position for the distance change)

after seeing all the trouble this swap is going to be i think i may just-

#1go auto,and i have two options with that,i have a old turbo 400 and i also have the 4l60 out of the camaro the lsi came out of.

#2since i waited to buy a clean 3rd gen with a stick i could just drop in a .30 over 350 i have,sell all my ls1 stuff and build a sick small block.

The prices for everything i will need to run the ls1 is getting a little far fecthed considering the ls1 i have will need to be gone through since its sat tore apart for some time and im missing the harmonic balancer,all front brackets and pullies.

I just really wanted to put together a nice looking 3rd gen with some power,its a white car and i would like to put the orange anniversary stripes on it,drop it,i have a cowl hood,z28 wing,digital dash kit and lots more.I just thought it would be cool to have a Ls1 powered one but its not worth all the hassle it seems.

Does your LS1 have the intake manifold? What year motor?
