Depends. May be very jealous, may not want to be in the same room, may be underfoot everywhere the child is. Just keep a super close eye on the dog, because noone can say how the dog may react. What kind of dog are we talking about? Have heard horror stories of dogs chewing toes off of newborns. But that is usually white-trash related. You shouldnt have an issue with that. Just dont let the kid and dog be in the smae room unatended for a while till you see how it reacts.
