Looking to cut my fuel bill in half maybe 2/3s

I never realized how cult-like the Saturn buyers were until I had mine for sale. A majority of the people that inquired about my car for sale would say stuff like "I own 4 other Saturns" etc.

There are numerous websites for them too. saturnfans is the largest I think. It helped me more than once with mine.

I get mid 30's on the highway with my beater nissan. It's a 95 altima, 2.4 5speed. slow as balls, rusty in the rear and dents everywhere. but not a bad interior and so far it's treated me great only thing i've had to do is replace the exhaust. I'll be using it for my 100 mile oneway commutes starting next week until I get into a place closer to the new job.

I was filling up the grand cherokee (v8 full time 4wd) 3x/week at $60-70/fill-up. DO the math to see the cost each month.

I bought a new car. Now I fill up the new car 2X/week at $30/fill-up. (2013 fusion)

The money I save in gas alone makes the new car payment vs filling up the jeep.
and because it's a new car and not a SUV, the insurance is cheaper.... BONUS.

I was in the same boat with my Super crew 5.4 F150.. Was pretty hard to give it up for a Fusion but after a year I'm loving it! Oh plate renewal is cheaper also.

Yep, that's why I loved my 81 Mustang. Cheap plates....about $14.00 at the time I believe. And it had alllllll the new technology. 4.6L T45, 8.8" disc ect....

Another thing to think about is tire replacement. I know people who have newer cars with 18's, 19's, 20's from the factory. 19's are way overpriced because they are rare. 19's cost more than 18's and 20's and I bet some 22's. So be careful buying that new car for it's gas mileage, because $1,000-$1,200 for a set of shoes will leave you butt hurt.

tdi. My buddy drives 100 miles each way from rochester hills to harbor beach 5 days a week with his. Pretty much ideal conditions seeing as he goes almost non stop at 55-60mph the entire way. He averages something like 52-53mpg. Its an 03 jetta tdi 5 speed.

x3 tdi

I drive from flint to troy evry day for work, and am driving a 2001 impala 3.8 and am averaging about 28mpg with plenty of room.
You have to love chep to fix and plenty of comfort. Like all gm cars the interior is a little plastic-y,but it's comfortable buzzing down 75 at 80+
