I was looking to take the wife to Treetops to play some golf this weekend for her birthday, but the weather is going to suck up there for the next week!

I can't think of anywere else to go for a couple of days to just get away that would be fun in this crap weather. Has to be some place in driving distance and not crazy expensive like Chicago or something.

Thanks!

Cleveland. Pittsburgh. Northern Indiana for the antique stores (stay at a B&B).

Cleveland has fun stuff to do. Priceline a room. Name your own price DOWNTOWN. Bid $50-70 and you should be able to land a 4 star room. Decent bars, good eats, Tower City has shopping/food. Museum District, Zoo.

Or find a cheap flight to somewhere warm. East coast should be nice all weekend. Same advice for finding a room. haha

It sucks that it's 40 degrees already. I hear Garland has ok Lodges/Rooms if you haven't checked those out...

I would have suggested someplace warm, but most airlines charge a fortune if you don't buy your tickets a few weeks in advance. If you can get decent air fare into Tampa or Orlando, there are definitely a lot to see and do.

Come to St. Louis. Hotels are cheap. Lots of neat stuff to do here. Plenty of bars to party at. Oh and this weekend is Octoberfest.

Why is Chicago cosidered expensive? Last time I went to Chicago I stayed for $60/night at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago right downtown by Millenium Park.

Kalahara. In sandusky ohio. Huge indoor waterpark with a nice nightlife. Lots of parents and kids and then also couples

I went to Tree Tops in the winter once. It was AWESOME. The rooms were super cheap and it was gorgeous in the snow.
Not sure it would be so pretty this time of year, but it was a neat little weekend get away in the snow.

I went there with the ex about 10 years ago in the winter and they had the heated pools and hot tubs going outside which we thought was pretty cool.
That was the first and last time i tried snow skiing.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm looking into Cleveland since neither one of us have been there. I found out last night that we can't leave until 6:00p.m. on Fri. so maybe stop in Sandusky for the night......I don't know. The wife will feel guilty going to a water park with out the kids, I know that. This weather really screwed things up.

If your wife is a shopper, just inside of Pennsylvania is a huge outlet mall. My wife grew up over there and I got married there. Just avoid the Morton's all you can.

I actually just made reservations for Zhenders in Frankenmuth. Two nights, 27 holes of golf at the Fortress, a dinner and a breakfast for $300. We'll probably hit Birch Run as well. The weather looks like it will be decent Sat. and Sun.

Thanks for all the ideas.
