if anybody has a set in "bolt on" condition, let me know. Some clean up okay, but not looking to have major work done to them.

Also could us a bigger TB and spacer, maybe 65mm or so, let me know if you have them too.

thanks guys

:crap:

Just curious, why look for that old school stuff? You can get way better stuff for cheap now. They're not worth that much power over stock unless they're ported, and by that time there's enough money in them to buy something better.

I was thinking that too, but they are definetely better than stockers, and in my price range. I keep thinking about those heads that Livernois has for $999.00. Im just thinking they might be overkill for my intentions, but they are a sweet deal.

I know Saso had GT40's on one of his cars back in the day, and made good power through them. Now how ported they were, I dont know.

My overall intentions with this car is low 12's on spray/boost (eventually gonna get one or the other), and keep it a daily driver.

There's some iron Roush 200 heads on here somewhere for $650 with rockers that would put you in the low 12's on motor if the car was right.

The GT40 stuff isn't worth the time to install it knowing what else is out there now. That's just my opinion, but I've run all that stuff.

looking for those as we speak... 12's on motor would be sweet.

thanks for the input Raj.

A set of unported GT-40P's an Explorer intake and the right cam will put you in the mid 12's on motor. I have cam specs if your interested.

I have a set of GT-40P's, came off an 80K motor, in nice shape, a clean up and I would bolt them on. I have most of the rockers also. $200 for everything. Call me if interested at 313-632-9100. Thanks.

I would grab those for $200. I went 12.21 with a trickflow cam and vic jr on the car. stock everything else.

Turns out I cant use the Roush heads, they require notched pistons. :( fuck they look awesome too.

I think youre on the right track Rick with GT40s, explorer intake and some spray it will make for a fun little car.

IMO, if you are gonna build and old school 302 combo, might as well do the one that work. TFS twisted wedge heads, gt-40 intake, e or f cam. 12's on motor if you can drive. Fuck the nitrous and blower. Just be patient and search for the parts online.

GT40's,cobra intake, shorty headers, stock cam, 4.30 gear, drag radials, all at 3100 lbs. Ran 12.10 at 110 mph. Learn to drive and it is not that hard. Look at the NMRA Factory Stock cars they do it all the time, and they ran deep in the 11.XX at 115 mph.

That's gonna be pretty hard to do in a full weight GT with iron heads to boot.

That would be easy with those roush heads. Really easy actually, you could mill them and use a big cam and go 11's. Cutting the pistons is no big deal.

Hey wait just a minute it sounds like you are talking about my car. Oh wait a minute you were. Don' forget the full exhaust and heavy front suspension too. Really if we would have tested more than the 3 passes of qualifying at each race we would have been in the 11's or if we would have had slicks on the car. NO nitrous needed.

here's a link to a launch picture

I'll try to see if I can find an under hood shot for you.

The gear is just fine, it worked the best. 4.56 was too much and a 4.10 wasn't enough. As for the tires the are 275/60/15 BFG drag radials. That was all we could run in Factory Stock. besides a Nitto that will not work. So I promise no slicks. That pic was from the Martin MI event.

I have a set of GT-40 cast iron heads that came off of a lightning truck. I am asking $400 for them. The heads have never been ported or worked on at all!! I have a set of 79-95 brand new FMS shorty headers, 1 5/8, coated insde and outside i will take 300 for them. I also have a brand new b303 cam from FMS. i'll take 150.00 I have a air gap intake for carb car thats been port matched to a 1262 gasket 125.00
