Looking to have the bushings and ball joints replaced in my stock 93 front control arms....anyone know of a place that can do it for me? I have the ball joints and poly bushings already.....and the arms are already out of the car.

If not, anyone use the tool from Advanced Auto? Any tips?

Thanks

put the bushings in the freezer, and they should pop in , the tool from autozone will work for a one time but there are better options

Need the sleeves replaced too with the bushings....I tried to cut one of them and now they need to be replaced too...

Used the ball joint tool from Advanced auto on my 2001 control arms. The ball joint was too tall for the tool so I had to cut the threaded part of the old ball joint off. The bushings I brought them to a napa that had a machine shop. Cost like $20 or something like that.

Use a hacksaw. Feed the blade through then attach to handle

Or if the rubber portion is out collapse the tube with an air hammer , should be able to knock the ball joints out that way also only really need the press to put them back in. If you need help hit me up with a pm

Jakes Automotive in Auburn Hills wanted $250 to do this.....fuck.

Let me google Mid Five.....
edit...Livonia isnt that bad. I'll give them a buzz. Thanks.

I took some to John R Spring on Maple in Troy and they did a good job and seemed reasonable...but now that I think of it that was 25 years ago...sheesh.

if you end up going to mid-five ask if you can wait for them to be done since you drove so far. feel free to drop my name if they won't do that let me know I might be able to run up there one evening and meet you and do them for you.

Ended up doing it myself with the advanced auto kit ball joint kit, a Honda ball joint add on kit from autozone, and some inginuity....took about 4-5 hours total...sucked but whatever....lol

Jesus.. That's a terribly high price!! Would take an experienced tech less than an hour if you, brought in loose parts. I did my mark vii and it took 1.5 hrs per side. That included removing the arms from car and reinstalling. Glad you got r done!
