Looking for a realtor... FYI, DON'T use...

I used Keller Williams to sell my house about 2 years ago. Agents were awesome and the house sold in under 24 hours. Granted this is down here in Atlanta, but the company was very good so don't let this guy ruin Keller Williams reputation.
 
One thing I noticed different down here to up there is that real estate agents up there always want you to sign a contract limiting you to only using them. Down here they haven't even heard of that. Not sure if it's just a regional thing or what.

Also, Ive had 3 closing with Glover over the last few years, he has never shown up to one of the closings.

My wife and I are considering selling our home and I hear Jeff Glover (1-855-Jeff-Sells) ads often and contacted his company.


From the initial contact, I didn't have a "warm fuzzy feeling". I sent an email the evening of July 6th and received a response the evening of July 7th explaining my email was caught in the spam filter.


I replied to the note asking what days and times were available for an associate to view our home. I received a reply the evening of July 8th with a few dates and times.


I wrote back asking for a Saturday, early afternoon appointment and got a quick reply saying 1:00 pm Saturday works and asking for my name, address, phone number and how I heard about their company. I wrote back with the info they requested and never received a reply or confirmation.


Fast forward to Saturday, July 11th. I expected an associate to show up a few minutes before 1:00, but at 1:10 and no word from anyone, I called Jeff's office. After several attempts to reach someone, I got someone on the phone and explained I had a 1pm appointment and asked if they knew when the associate may arrive.


They said they would call him, get an ETA and call me back. At 2:00pm, 1 hour late and still no word from anyone and no callback, I called them back. Same response, they said they would call him, get an ETA and call me back. No call, no show....


At 4:00pm, I called back one last time and stated I would like to cancel my appointment since I hadn't heard from anyone and wasted my entire day. Their reply was "We've been closed for about 30 minutes, we will call Monday to have someone confirm the cancellation." Really, Monday to cancel a Saturday appointment?!?!?! I stated there was no need, it was the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with and don't want to hear from their company ever again.


Jeff Glover gives Keller Williams a bad name and I wanted to share my experience here and will with anyone I hear looking for a realtor.


Since I was shopping around, I contacted another firm and literally had an email (not a generic one) and phone call in less than 5 minutes to see how they could assist me and asked when they could visit our home.

One of those Glover closings was mine. Steve-the-money-man showed up but not the seller's agent? Hmmm....

He showed us my dream home. 6 car attached garage and 5 car detached - on the market 1-day and he sold before I could do anything. He's a legit dude, but EXTREMELY BUSY. He moves a lot of real estate - no doubt. I would list my house with him for sure, the fucker will sell it. Gotta have patience brother.

No he won't, it's all how you the homeowner price the house,and what condition it's in.

We sold our house last fall in 18 hours, well over list. Our realtor did nothing but take pictures and put it on the market. We saw our current house 45 minutes after it hit the market, because our realtor was flexible, and could accommodate our desire to see our now house.

Selling a house is all on the owner, price it, present it & sell it. Be arrogant and price high, it won't sell. Have a crappy out of date home, it won't sell. The only thing a realtor can do is take a lot of good pictures to give you the ability to receive offers

Steve put me in touch with my realtor and she was awesome. Super flexible on time and even showed homes to me and my g/f separately due to our different schedules. Basically, if you're buying a home, just call Steve.
 
I worked with Rodger Dabish at Remax. Sold my old house and bought our new house with him. Never had an issue and great with communication.

As many of you may not know, the last 5 years for me and the family have been very, very tough. As I don't like share my issues as Many have it far worse, I would like to share my last 5 years... In 2011 while driving out to WW, I began to not be able to breath , and my chest felt like i had a car on it. Thinking I was having a heartache, it turned out to be a severe anexity. After 11 doctors, 14 trips to the hospital, and 9 different meds, I was diagnosed with severe anexity disorder. With the economey, almost losing everything and watching my parent lose everything they worked for, for 50 years, all just caught up to me. While dealing with this form 11-15, I had to work everyday as being 100% commission with very little money saved after helping my family, I had no choice but to keep fighting and moving forward. In 2013 I had the scare of my life. My wife's dr found a baseball size tumor in her stomach, after her major surgery and 6 month recovery, my family was dealt with a life changing issue. My brother in law took his own life, leaving behind my sis and my 10 year old niece. This was so hard and my niece was heart broken and my sis was left with nothing. I had to step up and become a dad to my niece and a rock for my sis, all while dealing with my personal issues. It's been a very tough 5 years.

Now that all of you know my personal life (lol) I wanted to say thank you to every single one of you. Without Motown muscle and the business you have referred to me, I would never have made it thru these tough personal and economic times. To trust me with the biggest purchase of your life, means so very much.

I can't say thank you enough Motown. Your loyalty could never be more appreciated.

Last realtor I contacted (about 2 months ago) to look at a house that just hit the market would not give me a private showing.... the wanted to group me in with 3 other couples at the same time.... I never heard of anything like that before..... I agreed and we set the date but not the time... they said their "rep" would contact me..... They called me at like 1:45 pm and asked if I could be there by 2 pm.
Fkn idiots. Realtors are up there near the top of the list with the Least favorable business to deal with.

We are all glad you made it through the hard times, hopefully the tough times stay behind you. I am surprised that you have an anxiety disorder, you seem like such a mellow calm guy every time i have seen you. And just in case I havent already said it, thanks a ton for walking Digna through the mortgage process, her anxiety is pretty high also and you got her through that.
