So yesterday my brother and I bought my dad a new C7 from Tennyson Chevrolet in Livonia, its a badass 3LT Z51. Were giving it to him for his 60th birthday because were both finally out of school and have good paying jobs, the guy basically busted his ass his whole life driving econoboxes to put us through college and were repaying the favor.

Looking for a good way to give it to him. Hes gonna shit when he sees this thing!

Anyone got any good ideas?

put it in the garage with a big bow on it while he is out of the house. or bring it in during the middle of the night while he is sleeping

Make him go with you like you're looking at it for yourself.. Have him test drive it to see what he thinks then when he comes back, let him know it's his.

Or, work out a deal with a towing company...stage it so his old car gets towed away in front of him, then, when he's ranting and swearing, have them bring the new one up and set it in its place

Have you or your bro or you come over in it on his birthday like you or he just bought it for yourself, then while he's looking at it, toss him the keys and say happy birthday.

We had a guy surprise his wife this morning with a brand new Jaguar XF. He came in last night and signed all the paperwork. This morning he brought her by, said he was just running in to grab a brochure, she waited in the car. Our porter pulled up her brand new red XF with a big red bow on it next to their car. He walked back out, opened her door and told her to get out and get into her new car. She started crying instantly.

When I gave my kid her car for her 16th I wrapped a hot wheel in a box and gave it to her… She un-wrapped it and just looked at me.. I said you wanted a car there it is.. Then I handed her another box with the keys for her car that was hidden in the garage.. She got over the hot wheel thing..

Matt, what an awesome thing to do. There's hardly a bad way to go about it. My advice is to not get too corny and make it a moment that you can cherish and remember forever. Less is more. Maybe have it delivered to him at work and then show up shortly after or when he calls you.

Film it!! Reactions from this kind of stuff is always awesome.

Blindfold home and set him in it, hand him keys and let him start it and hear/feel it come alive before he sees it.

Go somewhere in his current car, then bring the new car and park it like 2 inches away from his driver's side door. "What kind of asshole parks a car like this next to someone else's car?!?"

oh this might the winner. Then give him the keys and tell him to get his car out of the way.

Can I adopt you?

On another note.... I like the idea of basically parking on top of his old car, then like raroz said.... tell him to move his car.
