Looking for a carry pistol.

I have done some research and am ready to buy my first carry pistol. I want to purchase an s&w mp shield 9mm. Any insite on this gun and does anyone know of anybody with one for sale. From the looks of it all of the big stores are sold out. thanks !
 
If you don't wanna wait forever, I love the S&W Bodyguard. It's small enough to drop into your pocket on blue jeans, or even a jacket pocket. I holster it 99% of the time, but if I HAVE to throw it in my pocket I can. No bigger than a standard smart phone.

More than research, you should go and shoot/rent the gun before you buy it. I will say 9mm is a good versatile round. Cheap at the range and still offers good stopping power.
