The Rest of the Story

I had been looking for either a Chevelle, GTO or 2nd Gen Z/28 for a while. I already have a 64 Chevelle, but wanted a 66 or 67.

I put a 'Wanted' ad on Craigslist in several cities where I know people (Sacramento, LA, Las Vegas and here in Michigan). After a couple weeks, I heard from a guy about 40 miles from me. He is older and said he has 6 or 7 other cars in his garage and the 66 Chevelle doesn't get driven much any more. He never even thought about selling it, but saw my wanted ad. This really means he was looking to buy another car! His other cars are a 69 Chevelle, 66 Corvette, 67 GTO, 69 Camaro and a few others. He bought the Chevelle about 20 years ago in southern Colorado, it was in nice condition and drove it home. He had it painted, added power steering and disc brakes and that was about it. The car retains its original colors, all sheetmetal, floors and trunk and the interior is pretty much all original except for the carpet.

So, we made a deal and I drove it home.....
