i am putting a cam in my ls1 and have a set of 241's in the garage, does anyone know any reputable shops or porters that are familiar with the ls1? i was planning to go cam only but if i can put some money back into the MI economy and get some nice work done i'd do that.

local is macomb county or bordering

www.etheads.com is who I use. Livernious has a decent stage 1 program for the 243 I do not belive they offer a program for the 241 castings though.I am a dealer for ETP. Let me know what you want. There are also options like valves etc and depending on your budget and wants some things may not be needed.

I am sure we can find something to fit your budget and performance needs.

Best Head Porter in the Country is at 10 & Gratiot in Eastpointe.
CFE Inc. worked there while I was going to college when Carl Foltz first started out.

If you go over there talk to Scott or Jack....Carl don't talk to anyone but the Pros.

Tell Steve Horton Sent ya.. :)

x2 agreed...;)
Ron Sharp also..I think he is at 15 and Harper still.
Not many Pro's in Macomb County...
also many many NMCA guys looks at Carl for the power on the dragway. Uratchko, Kemp, Filipowski to name a few.
Depends on the money for your budget!!!

Well CFE has the Pro-King head which is the most absolutely rule bending head out there.

There are lots of good porters it just happens that ET has some of the absolute best programs for the LS1 heads. They have programs for heads alot of companys don't offer.

i guess i should have stated that this is gonna be a DD/street car. the cam im looking into is 228/228 .6xx/.6xx on 114 im basicly looking for someone that can get about 300cfm @.600 on a set of 241 on not much of a budget. i could buy a set of used prc or tea heads for about $800-$900. since i have a set of perfectly usable heads sitting here i figured i could have the work done by someone local.

Well, the biggest issue you will find w/ 241 stuff is to get above 300 @ .600 you really need a valve change, this is going to add more to the price then you will like. I would hop on the train for the Livernois GP on their 243 stage 2 heads @ 1099 and sell your 241 heads.

This is one of those "Ask 10 different people the same question, ya get 10 different answers"...

I myself have used Flow Technoligies(Birdie), Advance Airflow Technoligies(Ronnie Sharp), and Livernois Motorsport(Dave K).....

Would I use any of those guys again?? Yes I would...

I've also used some POS companies...

Call and talk to someone before ya make your choice...Pay close attention to the "Bullshit 'em till they believe it" types though.... Go and eyeball their heads...

Also, I'm pretty sure he mentioned "local porters" in the title...
