local Credit Unions

Anyone use michigan first credit union? Good, bad, meh? I see them in most Krogers & spread across S.E. Michigan.

Looking for a bank or C.U. that doesn't charge if a direct deposit is not recurring & doesn't charge a fee for a minimum account balance. The account would always retain 500, but just to be safe, no minimum balance fee would be optimum.

Michigan First is pretty good. The Kroger thing is kind of weird but it helps their operating costs, I guess.

MI Schools and Government is another good one.

I used Dearborn Federal CU for all of my banking except for my truck loan, which is through Michigan Educational CU. DFCU works well for me since there are branches near work and home. I'm not sure if there are any stipulations about direct deposit because I've had mine there since I opened the account.
