Local Comcast hookup?

I'm wondering if anyone knows someone or has a hookup for Comcast. My rate is scheduled to go up next month and I'm looking to lock in another deal. I vaguely remember seeing people talk about it on message boards that they had a sales guy come out to their house and were able to lock in another deal? I'm located in Warren. If anyone can help Id appreciate it. I refuse to keep Comcast cable/internet and pay nearly double what I'm already paying. I also don't want to go through the hassle of switching companies right now. The Amazon Fire Sticks and devices like this I am not really interested in either at this time. I'm more comfortable not having any change lol. Thanks.

A coworker has comcast and calls customer service to ask for a reduced rate. He threatens to leave and has the competitor pricing at the ready to defend it. I think the last time he called he didn't get the original promo pricing but got really close.

Many people have told me that this no longer works for them, including a few co workers this past summer. You call and say you are canceling because of the rate hike, and they just say ok see ya! One co worker actually left comcast because they refused to adjust his new bill. He went to U-Verse and within a week Comcast called and asked him to come back and gave him an even better deal then he had going before. He said he asked them where they were with this deal a week ago. He said the lady told him he didnt qualify for any deals because he wasnt a new customer. Now that he had switched to a new provider, she told him he was eligible. WTF!?

Thomas.....248296 for six ate five

He is a Comcast door to door rep....Can't get a better price than what he can do for you.....But it's technically new service. So maybe your getting a divorce and your exwife needs service....

He literally just hooked me up....Real real nice....Tell him you got he number from Rick.

I couldn't even get a quote for TV on their website. I have internet through them but don't have a web based account set up, and they won't quote my address unless I have an account that I can log in to with them. Fuck em. Uverse with Direct TV will literally save me $100 per month and they actually gave me a quote. Plus, their rate stays the same for two years.

Thank you sir. I'll try and give him a call tomorrow and see what he can tell me. I'll tell my wife we are getting divorced to save on cable lol.

Can you PM me the price you pay? I would just need internet and cable but would consider other packages. Thanks.

Dude, call WOW. I'm a street over and never had any issues, they're stupid easy to negotiate with too. Plus you can get cable straight from the wall in those rooms you don't want/have a HD set top box. Or you could dump the boxes and get a network TV tuner like a HD Homerun Prime and use your Firesticks for live TV and save a few bucks. I get 110/10 internet and HD cable with a CableCARD for ~$90 a month.

We had WOW when we first moved here about 4 years ago. Our bill went from like $60-$70'ish/month all the way up to $120/month over about 2 years. We called and tried to get a better rate. Comcast guy came to my door and gave me a promo flier. Called WOW and asked to match the price and WOW told me nothing they can do, and that we were already paying less then we should be. Switched to comcast and got way more channels, faster internet, better DVR capabilities, and HD service for almost $100/month after all fees and taxes. Great deal I thought. WOW later called us a few months after we switched asking if they could get us back as customers lol. I am too technology and computer illiterate to try and use one of those fire sticks or anything like that. Plus I'm noticing myself getting a much shorter temper with everything that causes me even the slightest inconvenience......... my wife has started calling me Walter LOL. I need summer to be here so I can go outside and relax!!!!

Just checked AT&T and I can get Uverse plus Directv for $100 per month for two years locked in with 4 tvs. That is half of what I am paying now for Dish plus Comcast internet. Anyone have uverse? I have been Comcast for like 20 years, so this will be a big change.

I've got uverse. Getting pissed off and ready to dump them. Had them for a year and the promo expired. But I was moving anyway and had to call. Bill went from $100 to $130 but there was a extra package on there that I didn't know they put on so it probably should've been lower. What really pissed me off was that I ended up having to take 2 days of vacation for them to "reinstall" my equipment at my new house.

Fast foward another year and now have been paying about $180 for too long. Going to switch to I don't know what exactly in the next couple weeks. I have to have a wireless receiver due to my tv on an interior main level wall with no basement and two story house. For a while now I have had issues with recordings freezing not showing on the wireless receiver and couple other issues.

I would just call and bitch but last time I called I was ready to strangle someone through the phone so the next time I call will be to tell them to pick their shit up at the curb. Oh, and their internet speeds are literally garbage compared to the competition.

You gotta work them. My favorite line is "can I speak to a supervisor?" Work your way up the foodchain and haggle with the people who matter. Eventually, you'll get an American on the phone and not some Bangladeshi named Steve, he's the person that will cut you a good deal. When I was on an internet-only plan, I was paying $50 per month for 110/10 which was the fastest they offered at the time. Haggling is an art, not a chore. That sort of tactic also works great for getting cheaper cell phone service. Don't be a dick and tell them what you want and what you're willing to pay for it. Don't be unreasonable in your demands and they'll take care of you.

I had Uverse back when they first became available in the area, just internet service and didn't have much trouble. They were always courteous and would call me if there was going to be a scheduled outage. My biggest hurdle with them was using my own router along with their wireless gateway. It was like pulling teeth getting them to give me the admin password to access the more advanced networking features. All I wanted to do was disable the firewall on their device so it would simply function as a modem. I only switched to WOW because they offered much faster internet speeds at the time for a similar price.
