Not bad Rickles! If you got the 60' time down to 1.9 you might make it in the 11's. I can't wait to see what you guys do with it!

I think if I would have got a few more passes to get a feel for the car, I could have gone quicker than I did... but they run a busy schedule Sunday and 3 passes in 8 hours with hours between runs didn't give me a chance.

Sounds basically like my first trip to Milan with the V. 3 rns in 4 hours just isn't going to get you a good feel for a luanch on a new high power car. I'm fairly certain my fastest time didn't come in the first three passes with the Cobalt as well.

My experiences on open nights at Milan is never good. I probably won't run my own car there again unless I'm going to a rental.
 
I highly recommend the Ford club rentals (forget the guys email but one of the Ford guys on here must have it). Everytime we go I get about 30 passes in, and could do more if I wasn't so tired by then. Agree, I'm NEVER going to Milan on a public day.
 
I've been with the Corvette Club as well as our club before as well, both times I got as many runs as I wanted. I hot lapped the Cobalt to back to back to back 13.8's once I got the hang of launching it. The Lightning's best time was on a hot lap at a Motown rental too. Both of those siuations involved no waiting in line at all. Come back up the return and straight into the burnout box.

Yeah, these guys have been developing the car and it appears they rented the track out that day. So, I'm not surprised they broke into the 11's by the end of their time there. I wish they would have posted the drag radial times. They hinted that they were possibly 11.4 or so in the release. But, nothing solid was stated. :sad:

I thought it was pretty strange they didn't mention those times. I also found it interesting they got a 1.69 60 ft out of an Eagle F1, as per the timeslip in the video. Doubt a DR would be good for much more than that.

From a roll your going to be in for a hurting. The ZL1 is worthless from a dig with stock tires, especially on the street. Then again, so is every decent horsepower factory car now a days. I wasn't impressed with the times on stock tires but with a drag radial and a few bolt-on's, they are going to be very potent.

things do seem a little fishy there.

I googled 11.9 second time slip to look for some cars to compare to. The first hit was a forum post by a dude with a turbo S197 on drag radials.

Although I don't see why a ZL1 shouldn't be able to run into the 11's on stock tires. V's get there on the stock PS2s that are narrower and I think a PS2 is less sticky than those Goodyears.
 
Just read the update on Autoblog and the GM press times where done on Eagle F1's. They said they took off another 1/10th with the Mickey Thompsons. FWIW
 
I wish I could have gotten on that track when they were done. They must have just been dumping VHT down. It had to have been pull your shoe off your foot sticky by the time they finished.

Probably right. I can't imagine the MT's only being worth a tenth. Because Goodyear is their friend and they might want to show how GOOD the F1's really are they may be under emphasizing the tire swap. Get the cars in the hands of the "amateurs" and the real numbers will come out. Honestly, I'm thrilled to see the "factory" not only taking these cars to the drags but publicizing it. WE are being acknowledged!
