Little Update

Hey Cookie.... In all seriousness, how did this turn out vs. what you expected it to turn out as? as far as the MM coming out part. Just curious

I'd honestly be surprised if the face to face meetings for some people won't be awkward. Not that people will intentionally make it that way it will just happen.

With the girl I work with I needed to give her some files so she handed me a USB stick, once I loaded the files I said "here is your stick" it was like someone sucked the air right out of the room. :lol: The guys in my group gave me shit for days that I did it on purpose. It was an innocent comment that people wanted to make a big deal out of. It seems everyone is reading into the simple comments like that now. I'd imagine your experience will be similar.
 
Congtrats on doing what makes you happy. I applaud you for coming out and explaining your reasons, and hitting it head on. It has to take a remarkable amount of courage to come onto a public forum and address all of your peers, not knowing how it would be accepted. I can honestly say that I am the type of person that isn't very tolerant of "alternative" lifestyles, but for some reason, this particular story has had an effect on me. I would venture to guess that it makes me feel a little different because it involves a person who is a member of a community that I am fortunate to be a part of. Now its a little more personal, and I have to admit, that I may change my way of thinking to a degree.
That being said, I'd be proud to hang out with ya anytime. I wish you the very best, and I think I speak for many here when I say that you have our support!

I spoke to you once at the track, and my daughter's looooved the cookie monster costume lol. Goodluck in all you do man, and looking forward to seeing that vette out soon. That TA was always one of my favorites.

I had a knew Driver's License photo of me as woman. My new name will be court ordered to SOS via Me in the next 3 weeks. And I'm gonna start fighting my gender marker come spring.

I think the face to face is better actually. I've gotten the best response with that. I understand people/friends are going to want to joke around about it. But after a while if people cannot keep up with me and my transition, I'm eventually going to cut mother fuckers off. I cannot go through all this trouble to become a legit female, look so much like a female, feel like one, when my so called friends are blowing my cover to people in public. In order to be my true friend after all this, You'd need to believe what I say is true (that I am a woman), and treat me and respect me as a woman. For now, at the beginning of my transition process, I'm being very flexible with people. It's a lot for anyone to take in. I'm giving people time. And don't get me wrong, I still plan to joke with my friends, but it will be at my leisure..

I also was waiting for a punchline, mainly because almost everything posted on MM is a smartass comment or a joke. :lol: Congrats on your courage to come out to the community. Im sure the vast majority of people here wish you the best.

I was expecting a lot of negativity or silence at first, but then realized that most people arent the young immature crowd anymore, a lot of good people here that look out for each other....most of the time.
