Lightly modified Ruger 10/22

Just gauging interest on this. I've only shot this twice, so less than 200 rounds through it total. This started as the Sporter model with the checkered wood stock and black receiver/barrel, both of which I still have and will be included in the purchase.

I think that's it. In all the modifications cost about $350 and I think the gun itself was about $325, so I'm a touch under $700. I'm looking to get $550 for it and will include all of the above, plus the stock barrel and stock and I also have a bag that fits the rifle perfectly.

Nice! Debated getting something similar for plinking & target practice but gotta wait until other projects are done before I buy any more guns.....
 
I only ever shot it indoors at a range, but yeah it's way more accurate than I am. I had plans (like everyone) of a scoped version with a bidpod, and another iteration with a lighter barrel and a silencer. In the end I've done none of the above. I pull it out every once in a while and think, "Sweet" and then put it back in the safe for another 3-4 months.

I'll also throw out a little more detail, as I've gotten some questions through PM. The gun itself is very accurate...way more then I could ever be. The only "issue" is the weight of the barrel. I built it with the intention of shooting it in any position, but the .920 bull barrel is quite heavy. My plan, had I been keeping it, was going to be to buy a bi-pod and call it good with this one, and build a second 10/22 that was lightweight. In the end I decided to leave it the way it was because I was never going to shoot it anywhere other than resting on something.

So, if you're looking for a lightweight option, unless you replace the barrel on this one (which is very easy to do) and sell the current one, this probably isn't what you're looking for. Otherwise, if you want something that'll easily out shoot you with the simple addition of a bipod, this is the ticket.

Buy a Ruger 10/22 they said... it's a cheap plinker they said... $1000 in mods later, LOL. I get it man, I did the exact same thing to mine. Hogue stock, GM fluted bull barrel, etc, etc. They are fun to tinker with for sure.
 
Bump. Ran across this in the basement again. I haven't shot it since the original post, so all information is accurate.
