WOW why in hell did he stay in it so long. He's only at like 400 ft and its verticle, not like the wing broke at the 1/8 or something he had to of seen that coming.
Hopefully he was fully strapped in as tight as can be so his head didn't get jammed into the cage...
They do that so when they are out front they lean up and see the car next to them. It's a bracket racing thing. Very dangerous.

For a little bit there I had visions of that thing landing ok but pointed in the wrong direction. Anyone remember hearing about that happening a couple years back at some TA/D test in Oklahoma or something and the thing went back and took out a bunch of stuff at the starting line?
once the car gets up like that usually the wind blows it over, thats what you hear about when dragster guys are talking about blow overs
yea 3 or 4 years ago, i cant think of her name right now, it was a chick. it went up came down backwards, full throttle into the tow vehicle on the line, killed her and her son instantly
Couldn't you grab the brakes (rear brakes only right?>) when the front ends up there a few feet and get it to drop pretty fast even while still in the throttle a lil so it don't upset to bad. I know shit happens fast as hell and its hard to react fast enough in cases but this is theoretical talk.
I have no seat time in a rail hence why I'm asking
Typically a little lift from the front end isn't a big deal and you expect it to sit back down and there is a fine line between a little ok lift and that little extra lift that gets enough air under it to blow it over. So you launch and it lifts up a little and you're thinking it'll come back down and by the time driver realizes it is higher than "it'll come back down" height it's too late.

If you look at the pictures the throttle blades are still open. Crazy shit :hitfan:
