Lidio day at Ubly

Ubly's right lane was working good yesterday, not my best 60' but pretty close. Car wanted to go left a little but hard to make any adjustments since I got there after 4.

Run street tires and youd not gonna hook period. My scat hooks better at lapeer than at ubly on street tires at ubly it wheel hops like a bitch and at lapeer my tire spins a little then hooks and goes ran my best et so far at lapeer.

Car hooks on the street and doesn't at lapeer, shout roods lake outfront has more traction

My car has hooked fine at Lapeer and Ubly. I will say Ubly is typically more consistent from trip to trip. Lapeer is bumpy down track, I have no problem making motor passes at Lapeer but don't like spraying it. The one thing Lapeer has going for it is how close it is. It's sad that there hasn't been any major investment in it in years and years. Ubly seems to be making an effort to get better and draw racers in.

I haven't raced my car in years until this year but I'm saddened by the smaller turnouts I've been seeing the past few times I've gone out. I don't see a lot of young people racing like I seen when I was young.

My first time at Ubly and things went well. Made a few passes at it hooked good every time. Looked a bit more challenging for some of the big horsepower cars. The left lane was down most of the day. Think it was coming apart right by the tree. Quite a haul from Chelsea but all in all it was a good time. Great weather. I'll be back.

Both tracks have bad days. If you've been racing as long as I have you probably have been to all the tracks enough to know that lapeers timers are positioned differently than all other tracks. I've had cars that ran the same time and mph at 4 or 5 different tracks and magically it's quicker and faster at lapeer. Enough said. Ubly was fun yesterday. Hit my goal of running 12s with my cruiser. Too bad they were only running one lane most of the day.

for my two cents last year I ran the Friday night heads up race at milan in October went home did not take car off trailer and went to ubly the next morning the car ran the exact same 60 ft 8th mile and quarter mile and speeds . I have time slips to prove it. I will admit lapeer is about a tenth faster. ubly does work, and it is a ten second car so to me it kind of sounds like drives to me and the air was the same for both days

Ok lol! track was working good on Saturday alot of cars hooking hard that nice vega wagon carried out a wheelie past the 60ft

you don't have to butter it up cause you work there Ryan. The track sucks, Ed doesn't give 2 shits about that place he doesn't even mow the damn grass. There is only so much you can do with a hand sprayer and a tractor tire being dragged around. My car wouldn't hook at lapeer to save its life and first pass at a track that has the proper equipment to prep car dead hooked. It's not your fault, but the track sucks.

No way I will stick up for lapeer anymore....always wondered why it was called the dirt track

Both times I have gone there it sucked for traction...like i said the road out front had more traction where my car dead hooks

Thanks for your input bryon!! Now get that blown up motor out of your car and fix it.

I would hope a trailered big tire would hook....since that is what it is set up for

i won't be taking my street car to lapeer

Go to ubly go to milan post your hooking results with those street tires I bet same result its not the track its the tire you run my car is the same way. I got my scat to hook yesterday at lapeer on street tires and ran a new personal best over my previous best from ubly. And my car makes alot more power than a standard hemi charger. Just saying! ! :)
