im digging the pool of vital liquid coming out lol ....looks sweet flat black with those wheels

Damn Ryan! That is one hell of a turn around on that 'bird! Was Tom pulling my leg or did you actually decide to build a complete new engine because your 305 overheated?

Best thread ever. Loving your pics fellas, heres my 1988 Iroc, owned it for 12 years now. With the 6 speed (was a T5 before my little conversion took place) and 305 TPI its run 13.55 @101 about 300 times and never broken a thing. My first and last car.

The stupid stripe and pedals are long gone, but there wasnt much else to do in high school. :)

Sorry I started it on Fire that day!

how much flex did your convertible have? my 89 T/A converible was horrible, i crack the windshield in it from goin over railroad tracks, you could see the gaps spread apart, the car was terrible

Gaps aren't too bad, and I haven't wrinkled the quarter panels yet so I think the tubing did it's job. As far as ride quality... I can tell it's stiffer, but only when on my 17's... 17" Victor Racers are rough + Koni yellows... I usually ride on 15" ET Streets though so... it rides like a caddy on those.. haha:hugegrin:

Haha, no worries, my fault for neglecting the brakes for so long. It was a good excuse to get brembo replacements all around. The only damage was the center cap on the new rims, cheap to fix. Could have been worse if it totally locked up on ya! Like I said, you had the most important job that day.

nothing like sneaking out of a wedding mid ceremony to hotwire an iroc outside the church

Thanks for posting those pics, Tom! Hard to believe how far it's come along with my ability (lack thereof) to focus on it! Time to get new pics of it this spring though. How about pics when it's not broke down?

Yes, Tom wasn't pulling your leg. 305 overheated and he found me a good deal on a freshly machined .030 over 350 block. That and the 305 ran out of air around 4k.... 355 still isn't powerful enough, I have an urge for something better already.

Hood's open in that crappy cell phone picture because the car is having electrical/charging issues.... drove it to the gas station, motor wouldn't crank when i got done filling it up. Had to have my old man show up in his 02 Z28 so we could jump start it. Color is a ford Midnight Grey Metallic - charcoal. Hoping to actually drive it soon!

God was that car hideous!

Are we sure we didn't push the car out in the yard in that picture so it wouldn't leak coolant/oil in the driveway??

Should I bring a bird back to the hood? Something with outline and minor effects inside? Maybe silver on the charcoal hood? And the bird back on the b-pillar?

About the zip-ties.... It may need a whole new radiator... Something big enough to cool a big Cat motor maybe so I can't overheat it?
