lein on a title ?s

i bought a truck last monday form i local guy dont know him ... but it has a lein on it from a filling dat of 6-27-1997 would i be able to go to sos and get it legal with out a relese of a lein cause the loan is more than 10 years old????? cant get a hold of the guy i bought it from.... startin to get:pissed:

do you know who holds the lein on the truck? if so go down there and have them sign off on the title.
 
once the lein on the title is over 7 years old the SOS will consider it payrd off. Just go there and tranfer the title

Try the SOS, they might just go ahead and transfer the title over to you. If not, you can try and contact GMAC/Ally and they should be able to help you.
 
Yep im trying to buy a car right now that Ford Credit has been looking for since 1994 I have to have release of lean paper or I cant get a title in my name
 
Sign some weird name on the title Lein release section on the title and play dumb. It worked for a buddy of mine.
 
Wh7y would you buy a car without proof of it being paid off? Thats just asking for trouble. Almost like taking a hooker for her word that she is a virgin!
