Lawn Sprinkler Service?

My house has a sprinkler system but it hasn't run in a few years . The prior owners told me that there was a leak underground so I didn't bother trying to use it other than turning on the water and making a big puddle next to the house. Does anybody have a company that they'd recommend to come out and fix the leak that I know about and get the rest of the system up and running? Now that spring is almost here, I want to get it working.

Thanks.

We had our sod and irrigation done by Meadowbrook Acres, I'm not sure if they do repair though. I was happy with their work.

Meadowbrook did our sod/sprinklers, actually, I think Black Diamond did the sprinkler's for meadowcrook, give Chris at Alana's (Denny's) Landscaping a call-- (248) 974-0500, they may or may not want to do it. but it would be worth the call. South Lyon prices versus Novi =-}'

We have Alana's come out and do our winterizing, they've been very fair and nice smaller company. You can tell him Mike, his contact at Kirkway Estates recommended him.

Got an air compressor? I think that is how they purge the water out in fall.
Hook it up and walk around listening for the air, then dig it up and splice the hose?

I'm beyond that. I'm ready for the pros to come in and just do it.

Sprinklers are really basic, if you have a puddle dig it up and find the leak. It's literally hose clamps, fittings and PVC. It won't be your last leak so dig in now.

I wouldn't say irrigation work is hard to do by any means. But not everyone should tackle that job. I can't even tell u how many times we have had to do major repairs after a "handyman homeowner" got the bright ideas to blow out his own sprinklers. Lol. Your toilets always seem to be the weakest leak when the air backflows into the house. My suggestion would be to fine a guy that does it for a living but willing to do side work. Much of the cost that a company will charge can be bypassed this way. Most have a service call charge and minimum fee. I could recommend a few guys if needed.
