I'm trying to figure out how to ship a complete C10 truck cab from Arizona, seller has been kind enough to send detailed pics and I would really like to purchase, just not sure how to go about the transaction/shipping.
I would have a pallet made out there that is strong enough to strap the cab to and then ship it with Load One or a similar company. However, that would probably be a pretty costly option.
Hmm, depends on how its being shipped. I would look at a freight company. Something like USF maybe. Are you wanting home delivery or cargo dock? Usually cargo dock is way cheaper.
The shipping part is easier than getting it properly palletized and / or crated.
I would see if there is someplace near where this cab is that does this kind of stuff.
Took me about 20 seconds to come up with this one: https://www.cratersandfreightersphoenix.com/
It will not be cheap.
Easy if you can get it somewhere with a forklift. Call around the area have a pallet made. Have the guy get a bunch of ratchet straps and a tarp. I would use metal banding and stretch wrap but we ship pallets all the time. Call up unishippers or uship or freightquote and give the m the size weight and zipcodes. Se if you can have it delivered to the local terminal. They will load it on your trailer for free there. Shipping is no big deal. Just have to be smart about it.
I always use RL Carriers for anything larger that needs shipping. Engines, doors, when I order 20ft length chromoly for cages I use them also. Like others said having seller put it on a pallet and shipping to business or dock pickup will be best.
LTL freight carriers are notorious for damaging items. Their version of insurance is a joke (pennies on the pound for used auto parts). The larger and more difficult something is, the more likely something will happen to it.
I would try Uship, and just have it strapped on a pallet so you can load and unload with a forklift.
