Meijer is such a major production to get in and out of. The parking lot is huge, the store is huge, the lines always take forever to get through (even late at night), the lights in the store are blinding, etc..

I can pop into Kroger and be in and out in 5 mintues.

I know this to be true as Kroger is 1.5 miles from my house and I'm there usually 5 days a week (I cook twice a day).

Do you have a refrigerator? Maybe plan a couple of days in advance and buy a few days worth of food twice a week? Then the wider selection at Meijer would play to your advantage and it wouldn't be so bad if you had to take a few extra minutes to wait in line. ;) :poke:

(My wife works at Meijer so I have to try to steer people there. We have a Kroger a mile from the house but I'm not a big fan of the place. I only go there when I really need something quickly and don't want to drive the 5 miles to Meijer.)
 
So what's wrong with your "ID" for them to say the images weren't all there? Were you even using a drivers license? It's not like they don't do it all day long, so something had to have been not quite right for them to bring the issue up.

hey, i went to the cheap movies at the mall and got carded to make sure i was old enough to see an R movie... i was like really dude.. im 24 and i look like im 24 too.... some people i tell ya lol. shit happens..
 
I went to kroger for my 21st birthday to buy my first case of beer and I didn't get carded.

On the other hand I went to Meijer a few weeks ago with 3 other people and not only did I get carded in the self checkout lane, so did the other people I was with. Two of them (although ~25 years old each) didn't have their ID on them so we couldn't buy the alcohol. I went back to another line by myself and the little punk that carded us went to the cashiers to tell them to be on lookout for me even though I was legal to buy. When I tried to buy the alcohol she went (where are your 3 friends?). They were total assholes about it so I had to drive all the way home for the people I was with to get their ID and go back. I made sure to let them know how I felt as we all showed them our valid ID's. I can see them denying me the first time but when I went back by myself that was getting a little ridiculous.

Have to agree with the statement that it is usually easier to get in and out of Kroger than Meijer. I worked for Meijer for years and I actually prefer shopping there, but Kroger is closer so I go there more often.

As far as ID'ing I highly doubt any store is really better or worse. It is all going to depend on who is checking the ID.

Still doesnt explain the parts people are confused about. Its an identification card? What kind of card specifically? What state is it issued in?
 
Kroger employees at 13 and Harper piss me off. Nobody cares about customer service over there. They're off in their own worlds. Also...their bottle return room is DISGUSTING. It smells like a dead rotting body and is dirty as could possibly be.

I always take my bottles back to meijer.
 
I love kroger double coupon to 1.00 all the time, Ive had alot of trips where they pay me to take things home
