Kitchen pots and pans... Need suggestions

The Anova immersion circulator was on sale for $99 on black Friday. Excellent deal for a quality unit. I've had mine for over a year now and it works great.

I have an electric range(yeah, not a fan myself, gas will replace it if I have to), any types of cookware better that others for that?

Wow, that could be the ticket. Do you use a vacuum machine to seal the bags or can you just use Ziplocs?

Mostly ziplocs but have recently purchased a foodsaver at Costco for like $80. Both work about equally in a normal pot so I wouldn't invest until you are sure you're committed to the method. Where they are nice is when you get a specific container (Coleman coolers with a hole in the lid are popular) and use racks to hold the pouches in place which makes it easier to keep them submerged and allows you to fit more items in while still having good circulation on all the items. Racks tend to be expensive but there are a few hidden deals out there if you look at replacement racks for the all-in-one systems that include their own vessel. I would definitely stick with the universal ones like the Anova since they allow you to use any size container that is convenient or necessary for the type/amounts of food you are preparing.

It's awesome that a thread about pots and pans on Motown Muscle has generated most posts and views than a discussion about E-85 versus gas or car battery recommendations.

The wife ended up with a great deal on some pots and pans last week. Calphalon hard anodized Signature series. These are pretty heavy duty. My grandma had a bunch of Kohls coupons plus my wife had a gift card so it was very affordable for what we got.

I'm late to the party but there is a Chef's Outlet (forgot the exact name) in Birch run and they have some really good deals on Calphalon pans. About half of my stuff came from there.

Whatever you do, don't get non stick/Teflon coated stuff. It will chip and peel then the pans are junk. You also can't put them in the dishwasher. Just get stainless and be done with it. You could take that stuff in the garage and clean it with a wire wheel and brake parts cleaner if you needed to.

We just got all stainless steel pots and pains but then two non-stick pans for things like eggs. They will hold up if you don't scratch them with metal. I always hand wash all my pots and pans anyways so the dishwasher thing doesnt bother me.
