Kindle Fire Vs. Nook

My 2 lasts forever. my 3 dies if I think of using it. I had one swapped out because the battery wasn't charging and when it did charge would last 4 hours tops. My new 3 goes through about 10%/hour with very light or no use. Heavy use it just tanks. I understand why and am not really complaining. Just saying I would love if it lasted that long.

Exactly. It doesn't compare. Plus 600 pixels stinks for viewing a page, 768 is bad enough. It's like surfing on a phone.

It's a 200 dollar eReader with extra features. What did you expect?

For web browsing you'll do on your eReader, it works perfectly fine for me. Is it the selling point of the device? No way. Does it work and perform fine for your average user? Absolutely.

Just FYI, the battery for the Kindle Fire is 7.5 hours of video playback.

I personally can't stand the whole iPad vs. Fire debates. They are two completely different devices in two completely separate price ranges.

I'm just not huge on streaming media. When are you going to stream the latest episode of House or some movie? Starbucks? The library?

Personally the only place I do it is at home, and I have a TV, so why watch it on tablet? Maybe watch an episode of something at lunch at work?

I didn't know how I felt about it at the time either. But I honestly haven't come across a situation where it hinder me from doing something on it. Most places have wifi and if they don't and you desperately need wifi access, you can always use your phone to tether.

I had read that the kindle browser sucked, but I have used it without any problems. If I hadn't read it the idea of the browser sucking would have never crossed my mind.

And as far as apps go, yes it only has a fraction but it has all the most popular apps. Honestly there isn't an app that I or she wanted to download that was not available.

love my kindel fire.

I use it for mostly reading. (news, books, magazines and weather) Sometimes surfing but, prefer my laptop for that (surfing on any tablet even the exhulted I pad, sucks unless you have a keyboard.)

Thanks guys for all the information. I understand that it's only a 200 dollar reader/viewer. I also know for that amount you can't expect everything. Does anyone know if you can take your movies/music from itunes onto a Fire/Nook? I've already purchased movies/music from itunes and if I can't take them over to the Fire/Nook, that might push me into an Ipad.

Does the Ipad have full access to apps? Are there more apps avalible for the Nook over the Fire?

forgot to add, I use it at work as well to stream pandora and I heart radio. works killer for that when tied to a good radio. :)

Movies purchased on any Apple device is proprietary to that device. I'm sure there's a way to convert it, but most likely you're stuck.
