Kids in your race cars

I was just wondering if you guys or girls have ever put the booster seat in the passenger side of your ride? I have deleted my rear seat, and my boys are expecting to ride around in dads race car. I was thinking its not any diff then a standard pickup, or a cargo van, just looking for opinions.

if you dont have an airbag should not be a problem

if the kids in a booster cops should leave you alone

I dont know how I survived the 60's and 70's

no air bags ,or seatbelts in the back of the station wagon
no helmet on the back of my grand fathers motor cycle,
no bicycle helmet either

I still have the backseat in my car, but my oldest son would have hit his head on the roll bar in a crash so I moved him up front. I put harnesses in the rear for my 5yr old (in a booster) and put my 8yr old in a booster up front with no issues. I would just make sure their heads can't come in contact with any bars.

The cage can make it a bit dangerous for kids if you're going to drive with them a lot, once in a while should be no big deal as long as they're secured tightly. I'm not putting a cage in my street car so that I can get two booster seats in the back and lock 'em in there pretty good.

Don't they make youth sized racing seats? I thought I saw them in a car or two over the years?

Would you still be able to use a 5 point harness with a booster seat?

I have checked into this and this is completely legal. I drive with my grandson in the front seat all the time and he is in a booster seat now. originally he was just in a baby seat!

Yes they do make competition child seats.
I have a Recaro Child seat for my neices and nephews when they come over.
It has side and bolster protection so I can put it in my Camaro when its running.

They love to take rides in the 370Z though so I put them in it and my siblings are cool with it. It is completley legal.

Besides the smiles on there faces when you just do little things is worth a ticket in my opinion anyway...

I think the hardest thing about putting your kids in a fast car is the urge to stop light race. I was once next to a Mach1 mustang for about 3 miles of road side by side. He was in a low gear waiting for me to stomp on it the whole time. It was sooooooo hard to resist racing him, but I wasnt going to put my kids life in danger.

He was just staring at me waiting. I just looked forward and kept my eyes on the road in front of me. That was one of the hardest things I've ever done. My palms were sweaty and my heart rate went up. I wanted to race sooooooooo bad. hahaha. That guy probably thought I was a pussy. lol.
