K2 Rifle?

DR300 just has a ugly ass thumb hole stock
True true. I didn't think about replacing it. But yeah the traditional DR300 is hideous. I hate thumb hole stocks on most guns.

Can't imagine what yer buddies over at DU would say about this tisk tisk.

Is it because of the caliber or the configuration that you want it?

There are far better 5.56 platforms.

What do you want to do with it?

Targets?
Varmints?
Training?
Self Defense?
Militia Duty?

I didnt see "neighbors" on your list?

I think it's about time I add another assault rifle to my collection. All previous ones have been sold and gone for a couple years now. Who has a connection on legit assault rifles? Hot/filed ones are cheap and easy to get, I'm looking for legit.

Al you should at least price one you would piece together out and see how much it comes to. Like i said I was going to build a $700 rifle and it would've performed just as good as some of the $1,000 - $1,200 rifles just because of sales stuff.

I'm not going to lie, I have ZERO desire to piece together a firearm. When it comes to guns, I'm a point and shoot kind of guy. Sure I like taking my guns apart and cleaning them, but piecing one together seems like way too big of a head ache. Give me another AK47, a few thousand rounds, and let's call it a day.

Fair enough. I say all of this never having done it myself. I'm just told (and it makes sense) that if you buy the loaded lower receiver that theres nothing to it since everything is included with that.

Strongly agree with the AK thing though.

I was just curious about price. I've seen them (DR300) before, but never knew what they cost or how they perform. I currently have a MAK90, but I shot ammo through it about 15 years ago. Is there any way to check to see if the barrel is corroded?

Strip it and look down the barrel first.
Then run an oiled patch down it and see what comes out. MAK90's as well as all AK47's have chrome lined bbls so they will take EXTREME abuse before corroding.

I would suggest skipping all the Daewoo's. Replacement parts have never been plentiful and the collapsible stock on the K series is ass to shoot.

Underfolder or side folder on your MAK is a lot better option.

I'm pretty partial to AK's myself. Here's a custom built russian VEPR that I own:

Nothing like the sound of a bump fired AK spittin' out 7.62's. :icon_mrgr
