Just saying hello!

Welcome to the new guys. Make sure you put your thick skin on because it gets rough at times here. :D

welcome. as for SS or Z28. the only difference really is the spoiler and hood. SS's could get different options like larger sway bar and bilsteins and eibach springs. If you don't care about looks just get a Z28. i only got my car because i think the hoods look too big and plain on a Z.

with a few bolt ons, an LS1 car can be a lot of fun. and in the same respect a blower kit does wonders for a stang!

Welcome, you guys will love this... GET A STANG!!

HAHA honestly I love pretty much any tastefully done performance vehicle. If your thinking about getting a pre 2005 Mustang and you want pretty good "off the lot" power, go Cobra. The only way to get a fast 5.0 or 4.6 GT car is modifications in my opinion.
I would definately not steer you away from a LS1 car though, I like them a LOT as well. :specool:

Hey guys!

Figured I'd sign up and say hello! I used to drive an Orange SRT4 but got rid of it this past February. I'm sure some of you have seen my car around on Gratiot/Woodward before. I looked around the forums a bit and found many nice looking cars!

I've been thinking about getting into the V8 Muscle and trying my luck at that! So far I'm leaning towards Either the SS or Z28. Not really sure what the difference is between the two. I know NOTHING about the V8 cars and hardly anything about cars in general. The neon that I had was the first car that I really worked on and played around with.

Oh one of the reasons that I am thinking about doing a Chevy over anything else is because I know a couple of guys that have some nice Chevy powered vehicles.

1. Steve Leouf - 8 Second Camaro
2. Dave Bommarito - 8 Second Dragster

Either way, some input and advice on the muscle would be appreciated!

04 GT's make more than 220hp. hehe

Don't join the LS1 or Mustang crowd tho. Join the darkside, go with a fast truck! :)

but diesel prices are a little out of control.

Welcome to the madness. The LSx cars are a lot of fun and respond well to mods. Biggest factor is a proper tune depending upon what you do to the car. Mine has been a reliable warm weather DD all it's life.

What kinda money are you planning on spending on a car? That would greatly help us in being able to give opinions/suggestions and what to look for.

True.

Well obviously something used, and below 20,000. The lower the better. Either way, this isn't something that is going to happen within the 2008 year. I'm saving up the money and taking care of some bills before I jump into a project. Just wanted to start with some ideas.

I appreciate the feedback!
