I picked up a dual axle 18x8 trailer. It is fairly stout but it has no trailer brakes. I was pulling it with my 93 f-150 which was fine but it could have used brakes as it pushed me a little on the way back with a load! About 3000 lb load! Any advice on how to add trailer brakes? What will I need to do this?

its easy if the axle has a flange. they bolt on. If not you can get new axles or they make backing plate brackets that you weld on. You have to be able to center them very well though before you weld

yeah, if no flange, easiest way is swap in an axle with brakes, but doable without doing that

There a trailer supply place on m59 just a block east of crscent lake road in waterford. I get straps all the time there and they carry a pretty good selection of trailer parts.

Is there any place to get this stuff cheap? Do I need to do both axles or just 1.
my trailer only has brakes on 1 axle. Thats up to you. Both would be better though. pull a tire and see if you have flanges
I used to get stuff for work at the trailer place on Auburn just east of Rochestor all the time
