Just lowered..

Couple questions..

I just lowered my 2004 Mach 1 with 20,000 miles on the H&R Super Sport springs (the blue one). Now when I did the coilover's on my last car my camber was insane and needed an immediate alignment.

I was just wondering if the Mach needs one now. The camber doesn't look bad at all, not even noticeable to the human eye.

Also I tore the rubber boot on my passenger side tie rod. Should I replace it immediately, or can I get away with it being like that? It's not making any noise, but I am used to greasable ones so I do not know if the sealed ones pose a major threat when the boot it torn.

you should get an alignment..

theres no reason to touch the tie rods while lowering?!? i would assume a new one would be needed but im not experienced with that..
 
You should get an allignment after any major suspension change, or after lowering/changing ride height............. I just got one done on my car yesterday by Kovach's in brighton. They do great work and have about a thousand pics of all of the racecars and hot rods they have done. My shit was WAYYYY off, and I knew it was, it ate the right front tire. Get an allignment, it is cheap and they usually find something that is loose while they are under there.

IMO Kovach's is a shady place. I met my buddy up there when he dropped his Cobra off for a front end alignment. Kevin said he would get it right up on the lift. We went to grab some breakfast, came back and the car was gone. We walk into the shop and ask where the car is, another guy says Kevin took it for a test drive to see how far off the alignment was (I always thought that is what the computers were for.

We hear his Cobra tearing ass down Grand River, he pulls into the driveway gets out and says "Damn that car has some power".

Left a very bad impression with me.

they did my dakota probly 5-6 years ago and didnot tighten the upper control arm on the drivers side all the way so when i slamed on the brakes it shifted way off. and they would not take care of it. its a shame. i have seen alot of nice cars go thru there when i worked down the street from there.
 
Congrats on getting the Mach Lowered. I too went with that same spring setup and its looks good now, but give it about a good week/ week 1/2 once it settles and it'll look even better!! As for camber, i didnt get an alingment yet. i didnt think i needed one either and my tires are not wearing funny, nor is my car pulling a certin way. I guess its prolly safe to go ahead and get one though.....

oh they will wear tho.. and if its low enough they may still wear with out caster camber plates..
 
a test drive is needed after an alignment, if for nothing else then to make sure the steering wheel is strait, yes, the machine shows the readings, but other factors can show up in a crooked wheel
