Just got back from the track!

Thanks for all the compliments!!!

I have consulted the 5-speed Gods and they have told me a few things to try for next time out. If I can get the first 330' figured out, it should have plenty of mph to get a 9.90-9.80 out of it N/A. If these tweaks they have suggested do not work SPEC will be building a custom clutch and pressure plate for it.

Oh, but leave the 1st pass out if you feel like it, since I left my brain in the pit area on that pass (shitty burnout, shitty shifting, some dumbass (me) left the cap on the shiftlight, etc., etc...)..Thanks for getting the footage!!! Oh, did you take the vids from in front of the car or from behind??

Haha! I have avoided all of the bracket races since everyone told me I would be crazy to try and race a 5-speed against a bunch of autos when looking at consistancy. I guess they were wrong :_slide_:

Not a problem on the delay, just curious to see if I am missing something in chassis tuning that can't be seen from the rear of the car.

The trans is a face-plated TKO600 (done up by Liberty). The thing is great, the higher I can spin the motor up, the better it shifts. Very smooth trans. Haha, but it drives like shit on the street (Klunk, bang, grind, etc., etc.). Well, I guess thats what I have to deal with to get something that will live thru the abuse of those launches!!

i have a tko600 how much to get it pro-shifted? also were is liberty? do you have a #? thanks!

they did mine too and I drive it on the street!! it does not klunk and bag that bad, I can even downshift it!! :rockwoot:
it costs 195 for tear down and 75 a gear (2nd 3rd 4th) plus new shafts one is 100 and the other is like 150
if you call ask for Paul, he knows his stuff.
just plan on it being gone awhile.

one more question for ya will tko600 handle a 250 hit from the bottle?

That car is bad ass and sounds NASTY! I can't believe how clean it sounds at 7k!

Makes me want to put a 5 speed back in my car. :( My best 5 speed n/a pass was 10.31 @ 132 but your car looks/sounds way better doing it! I also had 60 more cubes. :lol:

Thanks man! I can't wait to get it back out!

I figured it would be pretty cool to get a 3000# car with less than 350 cubes to run in the 9's N/A and do it with a 5 speed, so until that happens I will keep trying.
