Just filled up @ Meijer gas station in Ann Arbor @ $1.94 gallon!!!!!

all of our new E350's at DTE are CNG. a ton of our old fleet is also.
problems.
range SUCKS. old e350's got 100miles on a fill up
new e350's are claimed at 200 miles........because they have dual tanks. but none of 150 vans in our first order made it past 50miles. ALL have broken down.
home filling stations take 8hrs or more to fill, and its still not totally full. the tank fill pressure on new stuff is 3600psi, old was 3000psi.
power.....they dont make any. very underpowered

we have about 400 more vans on order i believe.

years ago i worked for a company that did the conversions. troy design and manu.

so i guess i have a little knowledge on the subject, just not talking out my ass.

its a 1.94 and equlivant gallon, and as stated before miles per fill up SUCK!

No shit, I worked at TDM from 93 to 96. I did the CNG F-Series, Econoline, and Contour for the manufacturing group there.

The Ford CNG stuff was pretty tight. They used factory ECM and specific calibrations. I couldn't even tell the difference. The aftermarket piggyback kits from GFI weren't quite as nice, but the still ran OK.

Amoco made a big investment in CNG stations back in the 90's and lost their ass. The vehicles never came, and most of their fill stations got pulled out. I think the only ones are downriver somewhere now, unless Meijer has been expanding them of course!

Roush does CNG conversions. I've had a few customers ask about it and I told them to stay away.

Our school system just bought 20 new school busses last month that run on propane. The school buys propane for 84 cents a gallon.

I was just going by the list on the site that 4Gas$ posted in his for sale thread. It only listed a half-dozen Meijer stores. Maybe it's outdated.

The whole point of someone owning this car is if you have a fueling station near you
or if you have a at home fueling station you can get almost 40 MPG @ $1.94 or LESS
per gallon. This makes for a really inexpensive in town or commuter vehicle.

You have some inconvenience by having a dedicated fuel, the upside is the lower
fuel cost - it's a trade off. For a lot of folks it's worth it, for some not. It's that simple.

it's possible that I was just lucky to hit all the stations that have it, not sure, but I thought it was something like I said

I gotta ask if its such a great car why are you selling ?

Now why do any of us sell a car?

I'm unemployed........I'm selling it for a dollar more than I paid for it.

I drove to Kentucky to bring it here & fully detailed it.

Someone is gonna get a fine car for a good deal. It is possible for
there to be a win - win in this life.
