one of my favorite street racing memorys was riding in the back of my buddy jeff's nitrous srt8 jeep 4 people deep racing a blown procharged t/a and dragging it down the 1/4 with him saying oh shit, i still got the a/c on while we were racing.

Great story!

IDK why people still say this though. Newer OEM ECM's have provisions to disable the A/C when you exceed a certain throttle position percentage, engine RPM, etc. For example, that T/A (assuming it was a late-model LS1) has a table in the tune to disable the A/C compressor if RPMs are greater than "X" RPM or when TP% is greater than "Y" %. My guess is the Jeep has something similar.
